Life is so unfair! I'm overloaded with work for a big event next week and can't waste my company's money posting on sherdog as much as I used to for a little while. Plus my boss takes 2 hour lunch breaks sometimes and I only get an hour!! And to top it all off there are still men's and women's signs on the bathrooms here!

I literally can't even.

Wasting company money on Sherdog feels good because the company is often so bloated and inefficient it wastes money in ways nobody enjoys.

When I worked IT in a hospital, I would have 0 work orders and about 6 hours a day to game on my laptop, and 2 hours devoted to keeping work orders at 0.

Being the only tech in a highly organized environment was the bee's knees....

Was talking to an IT guy just last week.
I asked him, "You really don't do a lot around here, do you?"
He laughed and admitted it was no hardship on him and he had loads of time to goof off.
Can't hate. We all love those well-paid, do-shit times.

When shit hits the fan, its balls to the wall. When a Dr needed something, it was get them something. I could basically run an entire hospital, 3 floors, 15 or so ER beds, tele unit, med surge, OR, labs, day surgery, etc and keep everything going with daily maintenance of backups and PC's going down, replacing PC's etc in a 2 hour window of the day.

If an IT guy is telling you he has a balls to the wall, stressful job, they are either severely understaffed (which is possible, most are) or just have no idea what they are doing or how to manage time or projects.

I don't work in such a fast pace environment now, and I absolutely do not miss hospital policies, hiipa, joint commission, sox audits, etc.

Been on both sides of the fence. Previous job was all about coasting and surfing.
Current job, not so much. Day flies by though whereas my last job the day dragged at times.
