And its not on my back.

I think Fedor is hyping up his potential UFC debut, as well as this EFN fight that is on FP, so that he can get as many people watching FP as possible.

If the UFC can see during the EFN Fight Pass broadcast that they get a way higher American viewership than what EFN events normally get (I have FP, the alerts are on my phone but I never watch these EFN fights) then perhaps Fedor could leverage those numbers to get a bigger check, using empirical data to provide his "value".

The lack of sponsorship deals make it so the UFC will have to cover a bigger portion of Fedor's purse than they would have to if they could just tell him he could bring any sponsors he wanted. So for Fedor to get that money from the UFC, he's gotta show he is currently "worth it", and this is the compromise they came to.

His UFC return?

If discussion on the Sherdog forums was meant to be limited only to people talking about things that they know about, let's just go ahead and shut this place down right now.

We have failed.

One of the things to consider is Fedor does not want a big contract. In the past this has been one of the sticking points.

the ufc does not really go for 1 or 2 fight deals. Now they have Brock back for a one fight deal. Depending on what Brock decides to do and how he does, they may try and work that one for a big one off event if they both decide to go short term.

It would only make sense then.. Neither is looking for long term, the fans want it, and neither is threatening for a title run to just walk off after. They tried to do it before so why not.

Old school pride fans vs new wwe/mma fans. win,win for everyone.

It will never happen if not now. Both would have to win first.

It would explain all the recent activity with Fedors old fights being played and this next one being carried on a ufc brand promotion and the return of Brock. It lines up. If they promote it to death it would do very well.

Brock is a huge draw and they have some crazy old footage of Fedor smashing people to plug to the mainstream. Easy sell.

As i said on another post, i have a feeling Maldonado is going to end Fedor's chances.

Fedor said there are a few sticking points in the contract offered. I have a feeling a few are the lengths of the contract, sponsors and his likeness.

He has always wanted a 1-2 fight deal. UFC requires 6-8 typically with a retirement or extension clause if you become champion. They also own your likeness and have full rights to your fights and sell you any way they want. With sponsors, it's all Reebok.

I'd love to see it happen but I think those are sticking points that they won't get around unless they really sweeten the deal to make it worth it. I do think the ball is in their court though. If they want Fedor, they have the chance to get him. Just how backwards are they willingly to bend to do it? He doesn't need them and quite frankly, they don't need him. It's more just a historical moment for MMA than anything.
