They were taken by professionals, made to look amateur and released for publicity.

I wouldn't be surprised if this actually was the case. Nothing gets a female celebrity googled more than "leaked" nudes.

Some of the JLaw pics were framed pretty well and had great lighting. Maybe you didn't see the entire crop of pics? Either way taking a picture outside in the daylight or inside near a window is easy, but when you're trying to be discreet and take an indoor pic with no natural light they usually don't come out very good.

JLaw's explanation for sending the pics to Hoult was that they were in a long distance relationship and, "he's either going to look at nude pictures of me, or he's going to look at porn".

I think it's because the hackers didn't have access to the original pictures. I doubt celebrities keep nudes on their phone on purpose. They probably delete the original picture and think they're good, but I bet the hackers got the pics from cache folders or those stupid thumbnails your phone saves or maybe from old text messages.

Pretty sure iCloud (iphone users)was hacked that's why those photos were leaked.

i think he was asking more on why the quality was shit. Although I dont think it was more it wasnt focused or just taken at the spur of the moment. But the pics were decently clear.
