It wouldn't have been so bad if they didn't shoehorn in all that unbelievable CGI garbage. But that's a bigger issue overall with the movie industry now... you shouldn't be turning every action movie into a Marvel like movie. Sometimes simplicity is better. Just like with horror movies, the old movies were so much better without the crazy effects. They were at least somewhat believable.

I never saw the original but I liked it. Maybe it was the whole premise of Jake G's character being rock bottom ready to check out and then finding some sunshine and happiness.

I thought it had some good scenes too like when the guy is getting shaved on a boat with a straight razor and keeps moving around getting cut up. That shit's funny to me.
