I grappled with a guy today who was at least 300 lbs.

OMG. This guy was huge. He has only been training for a month or so, but man...I passed his guard and mounted him. He turned and practically gave me the arm. When I took it, he rolled into me and I fell off. He came down on me and pretty much crushed everything out of me. It hurt so bad and knocked the wind out of me. Then he Americaned me and that was it. I'm 180 lbs, and this guy outweighed me by about 120 to 150 lbs.

I weigh 169 and I roll with a teammate who weighs 290lb on a regular basis. I am able to get position on him (mount, back etc) but its almost impossible for me to finish him...I cant flatten him out and he is way too strong for me to overpower into a sub. So once I get position for a while we usually just start over

I wouldn't pull guard no matter what. Thats just asking for a back injury. Seriously, if its just practice, I'll give up side mount or my back before I pulled guard.

You do NOT want to get stacked by someone that size unless you want a compressed or herniated disc.

...or do you mean the 16 year old beast?

edit- you're lucky you missed out on big larry. the guy was over 350 and he was WILD! rolling with him was like trying to pull an uncooperative Manatee into a dingy

    250-260 lbs I think.

But he's pretty short so he's still pretty massive.

With the Gi on I love to roll with big guys......

We have 2-3 at our gym who weigh 120+ Kg (not sure bout lbs but definetly more than 250) and they are simply used to pusing people around and they simply fall to guard......

However, because of me training Judo as well, I always manage to put them into half guard or side mount and then I work for the back.... I don't go for the mount since it's much easier for them to roll me over. Gi Chokes and the occasional triangle/armbar from the top is what I get....

No gi on the other hand is MUCH MUCH tougher...

You just got to be a monkey and take his back. I have in one situation couldn't control the back because he was too fat to get any hooks in.. or the time the guy was so fat (and skilled..) that when I hit the crucifixed he nearly smashed me by just laying on me.

i 5'9 and 225 ( right now iam about 232 cuz i have been off from a seperated shoulder) but iam put int he catagory as heavy weight so i fight the big guys at my club that range from
6'3 to 6'6 and weight in the range of 245 to 280 so i have been a victim of the damn makkikomi's .
