She was a saint. Den mother , punk band mom, went to shows with me not to be my ride but to see what i was into. Enriched the world of everyone she encountered and could throw that looping chuck punch long before he put it on the map

She really didn’t. She either lied, or (mistakenly) told her dad that somebody was flirting with her to get his attention.. She also may have literally felt rejected.

Then maybe you are the problem. If you thought she looked like she was around 20 or 21, then you didn’t ask her how old she was because you thought she knew your 17 year old daughter. So either you were trying to figure out if she was legal, or you’re just really bad at making conversation with girls, likely because you are a horn dog, so you ask dumbass questions like “How old are you?”

Now, do I think that should constitute harassment? No. But does it sound creepy when an older guy asks a younger female how old she is? A lot of the time, yes. And a lot depends on how you say it, which of course can it be conveyed by text.

Still, I think it was an overreaction for them to question you. Just know that the narrative among people who still work there will be that you sexually harassed her and were forced to quit.

the thing with this exchange makes it look like you already knew who the daughter was in a predatory manner. fancy that you bother mentioning your daughter just because of age.

thats some shady shit man. seen it all before on the news and in movies/books(real stories or fake), where a someone knows who the other person is with out that person knowing anything about them and does some fuckery with no good intentions.

As I said earlier, I'm not playing a game of "gotcha!" here. I take no joy in confronting you like this but you've said some pretty reprehensible things & I'm trying to ascertain whether you're dead on serious or if you're just having a twisted little laugh.

sorry to say, but i was thinking the same thing. i think the threadstarter may give off that type of vibe. you can sense it in some people. i'm not totally 100% sure in the threadstarter's case, but it's plausible. as others have also mentioned, we're entering a new age where normal public flirtations can't really take place anymore. even if the advances are accepted, someone else may still jump in to stop it.
