It's just natural push back from the ridiculous hype train he's riding despite not having fought a legit Top 10 WW or MW. He's looked good for sure, but he did not in any way deserve to be fighting Edwards next. As weird as it sounds, getting COVID and having this fight cancelled was probably a blessing in disguise cuz fighting Leon with the experience he has right now would have been way too much for him, IMO. If they want to fast-track him at least let him work over a Cerrone or Lawler followed by a young gun like Geoff Neal so we can get a better idea of where he's actually at before putting him into what was damn near a #1 contender match against the consensus #3 WW in the world!

I'm venting at this point but let me say I like Khamzat and hope he's the real deal but 2021 should be a year where he fights a gradual uptick in opposition till he's ready to challenge for the strap in 2022. There are a number of guys more proven and deserving in front of him and the young buck should have to work a little harder for his shot.
