I don't understand Ngannou beef with the UFC

So behl happy with the table scraps we give you argument.

I remember when they used to tell slaves that back then too. Be happy we don't kill you , but allow you to live as slaves.
You were alive back in the 17th century?

He could have been making bank this whole time - every moment his shelf life drops and potential boxing money vanishes more and more.

I just cant buy that number, so they offered him 8million purse without any PPV? Thats the only way to offer him 8million the way is been interpreted around here, my guess is that they offered him a potential 8 million with Purse + PPV.

Yah, of course. I don't think it's 8 million base pay. It's gotta be with PPV and everything else. You never know how these numbers are broken down in the contracts.

Came from a poor place, how dare he not accept a slave contract? Yup, great logic.

And it's not the first time that I see that kind of argument from Ngannou's detractors. It's typically westerner condescension.

What he is doing is smart.

The UFC is always going to be there short term. If he can find a great deal for a few fights either in boxing or mma or a combination and make more money than in the UFC, why not?

I mean Ngannou came from one of the poorest place in the world Working in digging sand mine as a kid Came to France, then USA, became a fighter, win a lot of money But still asking 30 m a fight to the ufc ? then leave because not payed enough? I mean, i agree to say that the ufc might not pay most of their fighter enough but champ at the top of the food chain are quite payed well, can win million per fight, is that not enough for a guy who worked in a sand mine few years ago? with the hype and run he made he could easily win 1 to 5 milions per fight signing a new contract, is that not enough? honestly? I think he became crazy about money, completely disconnected, i could understand if it came from an american fighter, but from a guy who worked in a sand mine ten years ago? really? Discuss

Francis fought Gane and he was shooting for his life

He want to be able to box .. his gripe with the ufc is they couldn't get him fights he was only able to fight and get played once a year.. that was on the ufc francis was always asking to a bout or to leave. Cause of his age.

He gets the belt and wants a super fight and wants to be paid for it is understandable I dont believe he thinks he woulda gotten 30 million but he def needed some kind of respective agreement and not a slavery type contract where he cannot do anything.

Exactly, so they never offered him 8 million a fight for 3 fights, sad part is we will never get to see the actual numbers.

I don't get the idea that Ngannou's financial requests are as much money motivated as they are principle motivated.

Yep, TS logic is idiotic--the fact that he came from those places makes him MORE marketable not less.

Why would anybody take 1-5 mil per fight when they can make 15-30mil for one fight outside of the org.

Who's paying Francis 15-30 mil for a fight? His last ppv with Gane did 300k buys come on.

No? He was the HW champion. The UFC didn't want to meet key elements of what he wanted in his new contract and their mouthpiece (Dana) drug his name through the mud during negotiations. Good on Ngannou for not settling. He's the best HW in the world despite who holds the belt in the UFC now. Now someone sign the 2 fight contract with Wilder.
idk why francis would think he had ufc by the balls just because he had a belt. the hw division burns through champs like every year. he was just the latest guy through the rotating door, and he didn’t draw for shit.

he should have locked something down before leaving. he’s gonna get lowballed into the gutter. he’ll be lucky to get what ufc was offering.

I don't know how coming back to the UFC would work for him.

Dana being who he is would probably lowball him badly if the division moves on and he's no longer that relevant to them.

Especially if he loses his shine over some boxing defeats.

I think the offer was 8 mill for the Jones fight all in. Francis wanted a 3 fight deal that was Jones, Stipe and Jones again. I think he would have been paid 8 mill for that fight, the PPV numbers would be there.

The shitty contract, not the pay is the issue. Francis seems like a selfish dude that acts like he cares about others, but I respect his courage. Anyone who confronts u fight cheap’s dirty tactics is the man. The problem is, some fans(excluding shills) hate his self respect, they want him to accept the deal just cause he comes from a poor background. Smh.

I don't hate a fighter leaving to get better money. I hope it works out. If it does it will then put pressure on UFC to pay more or more stars could follow out the door. The more their is a market for their talents the more the price will go up. The UFC has been top dollar for a while so didn't need to pay more because they were already paying the most. If that dynamic changes it will have a huge implications for UFC.

No idea if it will work out for Francis but I hope it does because if he crawls back to UFC the offer will likely be less than the one he rejected.
