I don t get why people call ciryl boring

He's a HW point fighter, that's why.
While I dont find him boring, I find him a bit frustrating sometimes as he seems to not pull the trigger when he could. I believe he could have finished volkov with just a bit more effort.

I respect his decision to try to take the least amount of damage he can, but it makes the fight kind of predictable sometimes when he is playing it so safe while being so dominant.

sure he doesn t have aparently crazy ko power but hi always puts on a master class of striking and bearly needs to grapple unless he s going for a submision and he isn t and asshole or a unlikeable guy either
You should watch his last fight.

He is boring, and there is nothing wrong with that. You can be an incredible fighter, have amazing technique and still be boring as fuck. Technique doesn’t make a fighter amazing to watch, many technical strikers have put on stinkers like Darren vs Wonderboy.

If you enjoy watching Gane fight hey that’s awesome, but I certainly understand why people think he’s not very interesting to watch.

being an asshole or unlikable has nothing to do with being boring

someone can't be boring and a good person? lol

of course khabib and gsp and very good examples of boring and a good person

In my case.. I don’t expect to see point fighting in the HW division. He has very little JBG about him. That doesn’t mean he isn’t elite, or champ material. It just means I expect people that weigh 250 pounds to knock people out. No hate, just my personal opinion. His fights don’t get my blood pumping.

I’d rather watch people like Aleksei, or Tanner. Because I know they’ll kill or be killed more or less. Even if they don’t have Gane’s physical attributes, or age.

He's got some good finishes definitely. U gotta factor in he js really young in his career and the last 2 fights were 5 rounds. He's figuring out to gameplan and execute. All the while not running out of gas and getting slept. I see him developing a gsp type style as he evolves.

This sport has a terrible casual fanbase. More news later at 11.

People aren’t obligated to like every single aspect and participant of a sport.

His style isn't exactly fan friendly, especially in the HW division.

But, if he manages to win the belt and rack up a couple of more wins, I'm sure his fanbase will grow.

He is so technical and has great cardio, he’s going to be an absolute monster once he learns how to pull the trigger and throw bombs. I could see him picking guys apart in the earlier rounds and then once guys are worn down loading up on his punches to put them away. Gane is going to embarrass guys like Ngannou and Lewis who do nothing except hit hard.

following a sport when you don’t like a major aspect of it (ie fighting smart) is quite dumb though

I echo these sentiments

Same reason so many people love BB so much. They just wanna see sloppy brawls. Only hardcores care about anything else tbqh.

Ciryl "WONDERBOY" Gane HW champ by 2022. Also Stephen Thompson WW champ too, both by outpointing the champs.

EDIT : maybe he ll take the usman aproach and will go on to become a finishing exciting champ
Quick question. Do you know what an apostrophe is?

People prefer less skilled controversial fighters. Is normal.

He doesn't stand-and-bang like most heavyweights, and so people feel disappointed that they have to watch a 15-25 minute mixed martial arts match instead of a sloppy 3 minute brawl.

I'm not saying he's anywhere near Mayweather, but the comparison I want to make is this: if you want a highlight-reel KO, Floyd is not your man. But if you want to see someone fight intelligently, adapt, and outclass their opponent, then you're in for a treat.

EDIT: re-reading my post, maybe I shoul have used GSP instead of Floyd as my example, but my point still stands.

People call him boring being he's boring to watch fight.
