I completely forgot that Izzy hurt Poatan in R1

Watching UFC countdown they showed a replay of the end of R1.
Alex was legit saved by the bell <TheWire1>

strange that nobody’s talking about it anymore. Alex is obviously the hardest hitter but we can’t pretend that he’s immune the Izzy’s power. I confess I had mostly forgotten all about it.

well yeah, you frequent sherdog - the internets echo chamber of stupidity, so you probably just fallen into line with the narrative these shertards spit. My friend @FriskyRandy - bless his soul - is a prime example of this

Half this forum doesn't remember it happened / chooses to wipe in from their memory

Why do you think Izzy is the favourite, DC, Wediman, GSP, Burns all rate his kickboxing and MMA skills and superior to Alex's.. why Izzy is the favourite with the betting public etc etc

Are you saying Izzy is a coward? Nothing could be further from the truth. He fights smart that doesn't always translate to approval from fight fans, but it's still the smartest way to fight.
It cost him in the last fight though. He was too afriad to commit to big shots again after that excellent shot in the 1st round and turned into a wrestler. Izzy can beat Alex, but he doesn't commit to his shots due to fear of being countered. Pereira's finish came off him checking Izzy's leg kick, which he uses as a jab. Izzy throws the low kick he always throws, he gets checked and there goes all his movement. Instead of adjusting he ran backwards on a compromised leg and got finished.

Izzy has the ability to catch Periera but he is too scared to do more than chip away and point fight. All the video of his training camp is him wrestling. He is going to out wrestle Pereira for 2-3 rounds before he gasses himself and Pereira finishes him again. I actually think Izzy shoots a lazy takedown and gets caught in a guiilotine or something like an anaconda. That way Pereira is 4-0 and has beaten Izzy by all available options within the two sports.

There is a difference between being cautious and picking your shots versus straight up running lol.
Look at the Romero fight
He straight literally runs away when he's in danger. That lack of confidence is going to lose him this fight too. Instead of working Alex's body and picking at him and countering he's going to go for head shots and run while Alex chases him, eventually cutting him off and wrecking him like last time.

Izzy needs to fight how he did in his kickboxing days when he would go toe to toe

I’m not convinced Izzy is going to wrestle at all. I agree that the wrestling in the first fight was disastrous.

Ahahaha imagining Marty getting his head bounced around is hilarious. Him and Izzy will go down as having very forgettable reigns due to how boring they were. A tier champions that are just a few steps below the S tier greats.
Too true.

Izzy can rock and knock out Alex, the problem is point fighting will not work. Izzy will have to gamble and throw the kitchen sink at Alex. If he does he wins!

It might be a mind game by them but all their videos on his channel is wrestling work.
He is doing nothing but wrestling and conditioning in all the promo vids.

Bro Romero was a fucking statue lol
Imagine being such an efficient and decorated kick boxer who called out a dude on a losing streak then whenever he moves forward to fight you literally turn around and run
Dumb as shit

Wait.. you mean they have fought before?!?!?!

It was what made it a great fight. Both can KO eachother at any point.

I love how Pereira hypes up the crowd at the start of round 2 and soon throws a spinning kick and then wins the round. He had to prove a point after getting rocked.

Great stable of striking specialists there.

That was Izzy’s best moment in the fight, aside from the grappling exchange. This is why I’m not counting him out. He has the skills to win but I wonder where he is mentally after going 0-3 against Alex.

Izzy is boring but how was Usman's reign boring? Two back and forth wars with Colby and stopped him in the first fight, another war and stoppage against Burns and a brutal KO of the year vs Masvidal, his only boring fight was the first Mas fight

He also had him badly rocked in the 2nd kickboxing fight. And outscored him in the first Kickboxing fight.

So its not like Alex have outclassed him in three fights.

Its a 50/50 fight imo. With a small mental edge to Alex

I think the mental edge a this point is very big.
I can't imagine the amount of pressure and doubts Adesanya must be feeling right now.
