I can't believe the UFC were arrogant enough to not have a fight or fighter on standby

They really thought this was going to go down without a hitch?

No HW can for Cormier to crush, no MW for Jones smack around like he did Vitor?

What if Hunt pulled out (we know he wouldn't, but still)? Or Lesnar got injured or pissed hot?

This is just...unprecedented levels of inadequacy

My first thought as well. How was there no insurance plan? Hell, PAY someone to train and be ready in case shit falls through.

It's absurd that they are scrambling to find a replacement, especially given the number of times we've seen people drop the week of the fight...

Gustaffson is training and ready to go, the main problem seems to be how close to the fight this happened.

From what i can see, dc has no shortage of options.

Are we still posting Jordan crying pics?

They got so many events on this week they could have just moved somebody, but that would also need for Cormier to agree to the fight. Its tricky?

Cormier and Jones would probably steamroll anyone from 185-265 willing to fight at this point, if we're being honest. Would have been a layup

As long as it isn't a dunk;)

True, pretty shitty planning by the UFC

Yes. And also DC just hade surgery on his ankle. Why didn't they have a backup in case he wasn't able to make it? It's crazy actually.

Gus offered months ago to step in if need be...I think the UFC is too concerned with the sale of the company at this point to have important shit like replacement fighters covered...

Should have kept Conor/Diaz II as the main event. Jones always screws up somehow.

Why would you as a fighter go through a full camp and be preparing for a weight cut to be a just in case backup plan? Fight camps aren't free. You have to pay coaches, fly in sparring partners, etc. There's a lot that goes into it.

The only way it would've been viable from a fighter's perspective is if that backup fighter was scheduled to fight on the TUF finale or one of the two Fight Nights in early to mid-July. But, this would be really unfair to the people buying tickets to those events if you know full well there are potential plans to pull one of the big draws off of that card to save your big 200 main event.

from the looks of it there are a bunch of people willing to step up to the plate Moose, Bisping, Gus just to name a few the only question is will Dana be willing to open his wallet to pay these guys for their time? im sure DC wouldn't mind taking a fight

With Rumble pulling out of FOX card like 3 weeks ago they should really have asked Glover to stay in shape in case he was needed for UFC 200.
