I can’t get into Tuivasas “shoey” thing

From your link:
"The positive — and possibly surprising — revelation was that in most instances the alcohol kills much of the bacteria present."
and...
"In fact, the only drink that failed to do so was sparkling white wine or champagne."

Over what time period??? That's the entire point you are missing, man. Yes, alcohol kills bacteria. But not out of shoe within 3 seconds. Did you drink too much of that beer you were making? Nobody is arguing your point against you. We are aruging the time frame of the actual beer being in the shoe for the shoey!

lol - We are talking about drinking beer out of a shoe. My stance has always been that the beer will kill nothing in that shoe. Then you come on with a whole side point of "no pathogens can survive in beer", somehow implying it should make people feel less grossed out b/c there was alcohol in the beer that can kill pathogens,
. Who gives a shit? That has nothing to do with drinking a shoey 3 seconds after beer is poured in it and nothing to do with the discussion, unless you soak the shoe in beer for 24 hours ahead of time I guess.
My certification in brewing microbiology trumps your broscience, bro.

LOL - Owned buddy....just admit it. Your certifications don't mean anything in this discussion since nobody is brewing bear in his shoe.

Your certification in microbiology just got trumped by common sense.

Yeah I agree, its just disgusting. But hey the beer guzzling morons love it....

Right. Time for you to move along, man - you're out of your element, son.

Yea you’re right -

“Beer (4.5 per cent alc./vol) provided an unfavourable environment for bacteria due to a low pH environment, low oxygen environment and lacks nutritive substances”

But it also mentions in the article that the amount of time the drink has been sitting in the shoe before you drink it matters. The longer the time the more bacteria removed.

Did you read it? “

"A lot of beers, particularly the ones we tested, contains hops ... that can actually inactivate a lot of these organism like Staph," Dr Ho said.

This article here says it has to be a “hops heavy” beer to not carry bacteria and then also suggests it very much matters how long the alcohol is in the shoe before you drink it.

No known harmful to human pathogens can survive in beer.
Disclaimer: former professional brewer.

So at the end of the day after reviewing the research, I’d say your statement is incorrect.

it’s more like harmful pathogens are “unlikely” to survive in a “hops heavy” beer as long as they are sitting in the beer for enough time before consuming.

Don't try to reason with him or bring in facts.......he has a degree in beer pathogens.

is this fucking thread still going? Anyone arguing for the shoey is a degenerate period!

It's fuckin gross. I'm not sure what they're doing up north, but I've never seen that shit irl after 40 years of living in Aus.

Also, saying 'eschay, eschay' to the camera is pretty much telling of how much of a dropkick he is.
Lol what part of Vic are you from and how does Dan Andrews' boot taste?

I’ve said this before, but will never forget ..

I once asked an Aussie who id never met before if he’d heard of a shooey, dude Legit poured his wheat beer(notoriously stodgy beverage) into his dirty converse and downed it.. I then said I thought it might have been a New Zealand thing but dude was adamant shooeys were super necessary… had a good night with those cunts.

filmed it but lost the evidence
I knew I'd met someone here before!

I have no problem eating a shit stained hairy ass, but this shoey thing sickens me.
