I am an ex-Scientologist. (LONG read)

I wish I could write something for Bob that was better than this song. But that will never happen.

"So you just stepped out
Of the front of my house
And I'll never see you again
I closed my eyes for a second
And when they opened
You weren't there

And the door shut, shut
I was vacuum packed
Shrink wrapped out of air
And the spine collapsed
And the eyes rolled back
To stare at my starving brain

And fully clothed, I float away
(I'll float away)
Down the forth, into the sea
I think I'll save suicide for another day

And I picture this corpse
On the M8 hearse
And I half run away to sleep
On a rolled up coat against the window
With the strobe of the sun
And the life I've led

Am I ready to leap?
Is there peace beneath
The roar of the forth road bridge?
On the northern side there's a fife of mine
And a boat in the port for me

And fully clothed, I float away
Down the forth, into the sea
I'll steer myself through drunken waves
These manic gulls scream it's okay

Take your life, give it a shake
Gather up all your loose change
I think I'll save suicide for another year"

You will be missed, Uncle Bob.

I swear on this day, I will not let them take any more from the ones you loved.

As I am now being followed (lol obvious OSA is obvious), I think it's a good time to let you know my real info.

My name is Will Fry.

I was recruited by Celebrity Centre Int but was transferred after the EPF to Bridge Publications Inc (BPI). Which, for those unfamiliar, is the publishing house for LRH's written works. At that time, they printed, sold and distributed his fiction works as well as his Scientology works. Though the organization was not considered part of the church, as it handled fiction works, it is a Sea Org operated business. It is structured as a management level org, just below Gold. We were also responsible in managing the sales of Hubbard's lectures and E-Meters under Gold.

I soon became posted as the "Sea Org Sales Manager" or "PAC Sales Manager." My job was to manage the book and A/V sales of the following churches...

AOLA
ASHO Day
ASHO Foundation
LA Day
LA Foundation
Celebrity Centre International

I was on post there from 1998-2000.

In that time, I helped put three LRH books on the New York Times Bestsellers list.

One of those books was "What is Scientology."

The other two were fiction.

1. "Ai! Pedrito!" (1998), which was co-written by Kevin J Anderson. He was paid to finish the short story of L Ron Hubbard.

and...

2. "A Very Strange Trip" (1999), which was co-written by Dave Wolverton. He was also paid to finish the short story of L Ron Hubbard."

When these books were released, I and other BPI sales managers were responsible for managing church staff under our authority to sell these books to public. We sold them as well. This was done in the churches themselves. The sales were made during work hours by staff members supposedly doing religious work. They were making a profit for BPI and Author Services Inc (ASI), who controls the rights to L Ron Hubbard fiction works and reigns in authority over BPI. Not to mention the profits of the two fiction writers mentioned above.

I will say it again...

I managed church staff members who were under orders to sell LRH co-authored fiction books to church members for a profit.

Needless to say, enough were sold. As their goal was to reach the NYT's bestsellers list.

Many of the books were sold in bulk. They were donated to be put into libraries by BPI.

The same thing was done at all orgs. It was part of the "Summer of Events" or "Maiden Voyage" event, where church officials released the books so the public would buy it after the event.

In 1998, for the release of "Ai! Pedrito!", I was put on a special project. There were three of us. One man worked for CMO West US. The other worked for Celebrity Centre International. We were each given a list of independent bookstores in various parts of America. We called Scientologists around the areas of the bookstores, then told them to go into that specific store to buy "Ai! Pedrito!".

And what was so special about these bookstores??

The list we were given were bookstores that directly reported sales every week to the New York Times. Somehow, someone from BPI or the Church of Scientology Management had gotten this list. All I knew was, we weren't supposed to have it.

How did I find out we weren't supposed to have it?

One day when I was doing my job. Calling public to go buy the book, I dialed the number of a very important figure to the Church... Their lawyer.

Ken Moxon.

He told me it would be very bad if someone found out we were doing this. And he wasn't going to buy the book at the store I wanted him to. After he hung up, I talked to my two co-workers. The man in charge of the operation said that's EXACTLY what we were supposed to be doing, per his orders from Management. He told me to call Ken back. I did, twice. Each time Ken insisted this would stop the book from reaching the bestsellers list if they found out about it. I was 17 at the time and too new to know who he was. But I sure found out. lol

The next day, the operation was shut down. I was put on post as the Sea Org Sales Manager and the other two got into a little trouble before going back to their posts. They had to do lower conditions. That was about it. After all, they were under orders. BPI does not take in a low level Sea Org member at Celebrity Centre Int and put him in charge of a BPI and CMO member. It was ordered to happen that way.

I'm told that, today, BPI no longer deals with fiction. Now they are just as much a part of the church as any other org. That was a smart move, if in fact they did this. Now they can get the same tax-benefits as the rest of the church. Now they don't have to worry about people witnessing what I witnessed and took part in directly.

It's been a pleasure to meet you all. Thank you for being there for my family and I in this difficult time. For the record, I am the only person in my family who will be speaking out. None of them wish to say anything bad about the church at all.

My Uncle's name was Bob Maracle, by the way. He took a refund from the Church of Scientology in Ann Arbor, MI. He was declared an SP in the mid-90's. That church no longer exists. It moved to a faraway town called "Battle Creek", where it currently resides.

That's all for now.

I just want to say, no matter what happens...

I have the courage of my convictions. I may make mistakes along the way. But all I am trying to do is make sure other people are not harmed, the way my family was harmed.

As they say, "the truth shall set you free". I feel that freedom now. I want to give that freedom to others.

And I aim to.

Sincerely,
Will Fry

Whoa...if you are being followed, get in direct touch with the ex-CoS people in your area NOW. Also contact whatever Anons you can. You are going to need the moral support.

Secondly, I would contact the NYT and whatever publisher's association there is in the US. They will probably be interested(not to mention pissed off) about this.

Do you know where the other two people who worked on this are located today? If they are out, perhaps you can convince them to step forward and corroborate your story?

One news outlet that will definitely be interested in what you have to say is the St. Petersburg Times. Call them.

You have valuable information about what it's like on the inside of the Sea Org. Don't sit on it for publishing at a later date. The pieces you know may fit with pieces other people know that are in a similar position.

Good luck and godspeed my friend!

Thank you, sir.

My role is to tell people the truth. What they do with it is out of my hands. And I will tell anyone who asks.

I'm not here to seek revenge. Only to expose.

I'm not scared. I have nothing to hide.

Whatever happens, happens.

And I'm so glad I did this. It has been the culmination of my existence. Everything I've seen and done. Now I am finally a free man. For the first time in my life.

Do you have any idea how happy that makes me?

First I would like to thank willhaven720 for this topic. It has been immensely entertaining.

Second I would like to offer my condolences, as meaningless as they are over the internet, on the loss of your uncle. It seems though that he would be proud of what you have done here.

That said, I can't help but notice, having read the entire thread just now, rnaviaux's account creation date. It is almost 3 years old and yet he only responds to threads about scientology, looking at his history.

This makes me wonder, do they have "sleeper" accounts on all major forums? Accounts made in the past so as to give them an air of legitimacy when the inevitable scientology thread comes up and they defend it? Do they have people that just google "scientology" every minute to see if a thread somewhere on the interwebs pops up?

Of course the post count + belt color here makes him stick out a bit. :icon_chee

Edit: Flight of the Conchords rule man.

That is exactly what they do.

Look up Tory Magoo's recollections of how she used to work as a part of a team that did nothing BUT post pro-scientology messages on oldschool forums on usenet like alt.religion.scientology and such. They've spammed forums to the extent that they became nigh-on unuseable, although they don't do as much of that these days.

Edit: Flight of the Conchords rule man.

Though this IS something that is commonly done, that is certainly not the case with rnaviaux. He is a real dude. I know this for a fact. He's a church member but not a staff member (as he mentioned). And his personal interest in BJJ (that he also mentioned), is a legit reason to be here. With the low post count, I would imagine that the sherdog community as a whole is not his "cup o' tea". Which is why he only talks about scientology here.

But I can understand your suspicion. And it is definitely not unfounded.

Thanks for your condolences. My hope is that enough join the fight to expose the misdealings and falsehoods of the church, that there will be no more pain from the practice of disconnection (on both sides).

Interesting, I'll check that out Darwinist. Thanks.

Ah, well my apologies to rnaviaux then, it's just older whitebelt accounts make me raise an eyebrow on occasion.

I've heard stories about Ken Moxon. Back when Anonymous exploded, there was a lawyer (who's name escapes me) that had all kinds of trouble with Ken. Sad that he lost his daughter. That sucks. But yeah, he's kinda been Scientology's hitman, suing people into oblivion. From what I've read, he's not a good guy at all. Hopefully he'll change.

Whats strange to me is I've been a member for a lot longer than three years and my post count is smaller than it should be.

I mostly post on mma.tv anyway. Level of civility over there is a notch higher than here. Which isn't really saying much:)

I have probably 10,00 posts in forums that the post count is disabled, that's why I am of the opinion that post count means very little in the grand scheme of things...

WOAAH... Hey Randy! I thought you left and never came back. (lol I tried my best not to say "blown for good").

I hope I didn't get too "whatever" back there. I know you're just defending your personal beliefs. This is the first time I have ever spoken against Scientology publicly. And I know I have a lot of bad habits to conquer. Try not to hold it against me.

You don't need to reply. Nor do I expect you to.

It is truly "all good".

Well that story was the extent of our relationship. But I have heard a few stories as well.

And that really sucked about his daughter.

Yeah I understand that, that's why I actually checked his post history as well like I said earlier. I assume that history is still saved in forums that don't save post count right?

This thread really needs to be moved back to the War Room. Seriously.

Good luck Will. What types of things have Scientologists been known to do to dissenters? What do you have to brace for?

I added a link to this thread in my signature. I encourage others to do the same.

Anything really. Google: Operation Freakout.

Also, you can keep tabs on what IS happening on whyweprotest.net. But many here might not follow if they have no sci-experience. I've had 3 different cases of being lurked. And a possible 4th but that's unconfirmed.

Thanks for the sigs! :)
