Jones never had even a rumor of a bad weight cut and made 205 with ease. He cleaned out LHW only after DC II and never lobbied to fight particular fighters / money fights etc. Despite all his issues and how disgusting of a human being he is, he was a model champion in terms of fighting contenders, fighting frequently and not cherry picking opponents.

His division was 205 and he knew it. Maybe after a second Gus fight and an AJ fight he would have been more tempted to test the waters but during his tenure he was acting like a champion that so many of us die hards - myself included - would like to see from the fucking stupid ridiculous “champions” of today.

So yes saying he was a coward for never fighting HW is foolish IMO.

Of course his division is 205 when he can make the weight without any issues and just tower over anyone he is ever going to face. Just saying, it would sure he nice to see him in some fights where he does not have these clear advantages. I dont fault the guy for staying in 205 though and he is certainly not a coward to me. I do think it is pretty lame after years of teasing a HW run.

The guy called out Brock... Think he said something about getting your ass kicked by a guy weighing 40 pounds less. But then both had issues...

Jon is innocent btw

Never understood calling someone a coward for not moving up.MM could probably make 115 and he gets all kinds of shit for not going to 135.I wrestled for 10 years, some or I should say most fans have no clue what 10-15 pounds difference is like.

If the guy cut 30 plus LBs or something i would get it. But he fought as low as 217LB at LHW. He has the legs of a BW

Its because people who don't like them want to see them lose

After cleaning out divisions some champions like to move up and prove themselves, especially with nothing left to prove . Jones isn't one of them and now especially without roids wouldn't even consider such a test.

Anything Jones does is bad, this forum is just so fucking biased.

He doesn't want to fight at HW - he's a coward.
He goes for a midnight drive with two ladies of reputation - he crashes his bentley into a pole with prostitutes.
He stops a mugger - he was getting his coke back.
He asks if his cat is in studio, concerned for its health - accused of calling Corimer a pussy
He goes for a leisurely drive - he attacks a pregnant women before returning to the crime scene to swipe cash and a bong and possibly crack
He goes for another leisurely drive and greets fans in the other car - he's drag racing and insulting police officers

Its fucking racism is what it is.

Me neither. Fair enough if they keep missing weight like Yoel but Jones never did. People used to give Anderson shit for not going up, even though he did twice and won. But apparently he wasn't brave enough to take on the LHW champ, even though he finished a former champ, but whatever.

Yeah a hw fight would have been nice before his forced retirement.

What UFC champ moved up after clearing out the division? I guess Anderson

he is a coward

he should stop calling out HWs then and pretending he is going to move HW

i know it's BS which is why i said it in 2012 but you idiots... most of you are casuals or are just stupid so you believe him

still find it hilarious how people thought he was some saint
i saw his fake persona from day 1 that i watched a interview of his

How long has he been threatening to go up and fight at heavyweight though? Years! And waffled back and forth endlessly. It's not like the idea was thrust upon him suddenly and people are calling him coward immediately afterwards. He's usually the one whose comments provoke the fan's speculations about it.

I have no love for Jones either and you are absolutely right.

Saying he's a coward for not going up in weight when he *easily* makes weight at his current division is a bit silly.

You can't be a whatever-time champion in MMA and be a coward. Not possible.

It's just fans whining because they know there would be more exciting fights for him at HW. Which is totally true, but has nothing to do with him being or not being a coward.

Not many. Aldo wanted to against Pettis but Dana wasn't for it, atleast super fights. Just saying Jones I can't recall ever having any intention unless I'm missing something. I think people single him out because he was so dominant and did have physical attributes many LHW's just didn't have. I don't like counting the Gsp thing but you could. Should have been done when Anderson and him were at their peak. Going up for Bisping didn't impress me, like it matters. I'm actually with Jones on this because I don't see him running through some of those guys. He doesn't have good hands. I would laugh if Cormier became HW Champ and then he wanted it.
