I’ll admit that I was wrong about Oliveira

Do Bronx has been showing his skills for the past decade

He has always been a phenom, the move to 155 just solidified it

I picked Tony, too. So no judge. Oliveira really nosed it up. Different man.

I once saw Oliveira as a quitter who gave up vs Cub Swanson. Gif below

Although there’s been little evidence to say that his mental fortitude has improved; he’s steam rolled his last opponents and faced little adversity, I think it’s unfair at this point to discredit him as a fighter or as one who hasn’t evolved in his move up to 155. He looks like a completely different man now, and yes he was slick at 145, but he’s a big 155’er. He manhandled Tony on the ground and slammed him multiple times. I know Tony’s not the best he’s ever been, but that performance was very good. It was truly bizarre to see El Cucuy get ragdolled like that, and I hope to see him back against some lower ranked guys.
He's a lot better than I thought he was. He's elite. But this is a second time straight, Tony has made opponents look more elite than what they are.

Is chucky top 3 lw? I think so. He earned that. Do I favor to beat Conor, Dustin, gaethje? No I don't. I definitely don't favor him to beat khabib although I think he has a fair shot of beating all the top contenders but not Khabib.

Only time will tell actually.

The problem is when you look at his losses. I never followed him, but, I remember not being a fan of his. Sort of boring is what I remember. I have to look at his fights, maybe it was just one fight in my head.

I was impressed though. Hopefully he keeps moving forward.
Boring?

You can say a lot of things about him, but win or lose I don’t think I have ever seen him in a boring fight.

As others have mentioned, Oliveira was young when he got to the UFC. He was a BJJ prodigy guy that was undefeated and able to submit almost everyone he fought. He had never faced any adversity before. When he finally did, he found he didn't have the mental toughness to work through it.

Since his loss to Felder he has been training at ChuteBox. Everyday is a war – which is not too good for your brain but is good for building mental toughness. It worked for Werdum who couldn't punch a hole through a wet paper bag before.

Cub hits hard tbf, he throws with everything he has in just about every punch he throws. Ask Daniel.

i know most sherdoggers will find it amazing that a guy can change as he ages.

i didnt think chuck was going to be able to hang with tony either.

da bronx was just a kid when he got thrown to the wolves early in his career.

he is a grown ass man now and it shows.

at this point, his size and skillset will give any lightweight problems

I still remember when Jim Miller broke his knee. Epic sub.

I still remember 5'6 Frankie trying to thrown jumping knees and jumping over hand rights at the 5'11 oliveira after stunning him hard.

One good thing about oliveira's losses though is that they're all to elite guys, meaning he has felt elite competition for many years now and he knows what level he needs to be at to surpass these guys. I doubt anybody can really surprise him anymore. He's a true vet, despite his relatively young age.

Gaethje.

He doesn't want that smoke.

You realize oliveira did want that smoke, but gaethje turned him down, which resulted in Oliveira vs Lee being made, right?

I'm only talking shit man lol, allow it.

I truly think Do bronx isn't scared of anyone, maybe khabib since he keeps talking about swearing on the grave thing. But other than that I truly believe he believes his destin for the title. I like his story too. Sounds like having a kid had him get his head on focused sharp. I'll cheer for him outside of my guy khabib.
