15th September - Moscow

Hunt vs Oleinik
Arlovski vs Abdurakhimov

Ok there's Godbeer / Henrique the weekend after as well - Godbeer is 23rd and Henrique is unranked. But top 20 wise we have had a real glut of top HW fights in the last few months and it kind of looks as though HW is going to go really quiet for a while. It certainly doesn't look as though the strap is going to be up for grabs any time soon.

Fought this month

DC
Stipe
Lewis
Ngannou
JDS
Ivanov
Tybura
Struve

Fought in the last 2 months

Harris
Blaydes
Overeem
Tuivasa
Albini

Fought 3-4 months ago

Volkov
Wills

I wonder if anyone is willing to take the Volkov fight? Otherwise with the exception of Moscow this is basically the HW division for the rest of the year

Volkov/Blaydes needs to happen

However they both might be inclined to sit out for awhile cause they know DC is retiring in March, and they'll likely get a chance to fight for the belt if they just wait it out. It's unfortunate.

Me and @digitalman45 were just discussing how much they should be trying to make it happen on the Conor-Khabib card. Could instantly revive the division from tumbleweed status. At least to the extent that the Ngannou-Overeem KO did, in that one of them could be hyped as a real monster if they put the other guy away.

But... But... Brock is coming back.

Conor will never fight again.

HW has been doing okay'ish lately.
Started getting new names like Blaydes and Tai. It's not so bad.

and lewis wont fight volkov in russia, which sucks. the top guys are hesitant to take fights because of the whole dc retiring thing. they're waiting it out.

blaydes, lewis, and volkov need to fight one or the other. the 1 guy left out can fight stipe or something whenever he comes back later this year or 1 of them can fight JDS maybe. JDS is rank like 8 i think but in reality hes prob top 5 and is coming off a W, fight before that was the loss for the belt. so jds is right there at the top of the div also

well 5 well known HWs just fought
1 got USADA'D
1 is in WWE

I WALKED INTO THIS BUILDING AND WATCHED THE HEAVYWEIGHT DISASTERS FROM THE BEGINNING
NGANNOU THE PIECE OF SHIT
MIOCIC THE PIECE OF SHIT
DC - I'M COMING FOR YOU!

Stipe is definitely fighting for that title next. They can't both fight him.

UFC's heavyweight division has been in a permanent drought since 2002.

HW talent in UFC is identical to water in California over the past 5+ years
