It is a myth that the HW division is especially weak right now. It's close to, if not, the best it's ever been. Disagree? Name a time the HW division in the UFC was better.

its stronger than its been for a while, but its still the weakest division in MMA

Not at all. It's very strong. It's just handled poorly. Joe Silva hurt it when it had full momentum when he made the Cain rematch instead of going with Arlovski or JDS rematch. Instead Cain didn't fight, and the other two got knocked off and Reem didn't get a title shot because of his contract negotiations.

I bet if you did a search you would be surprised to see how many posts with the same title.

Does that indicate anything? I don't know man.

I think instead of weak, you should use lack's depth. There are only so many men of that size that are MMA performers.

HW in the UFC has always been weak... That's why they need to buy Pride and Strikeforce.

And it's easily the weakest division in the UFC today

In other words, the last time it was nearly as strong as today was almost a decade ago.
You asked when it was better, and I think it was better seven years ago. Not nearly as strong as today. Better than today.

It's the same couple of guys rotating around, fighting each other.

Its definitely not the weakest.

Women's divisions are weaker imo.
they are just less developed, but they are far stronger divisions(both of them) than the HW division

The same could be said about many divisions, hence the frequent complaints about the high number of immediate rematches across divisions.

Well it isn't the weakest division as they kick the ass of every other division. You can 'maybe' say P4P it's the weakest, but then how do we determine P4P… What the heck would a 240lb MM look like? How would he move? What would a 155lb Stipe Miocic look like? How would he move?

all the top guys are old pride veterans. its terrible. the division is on life support.

HW is by far the shallowest talent pool.

What makes them "stronger?"
I think there is a deeper talent pool in both divisions, they are just not as well known as the HW fighters.

just my opinion of course
