What (if any) other active fighters are publicly on board with Mark? And do you think the whole thing could have been avoided if the UFC didn't sign the ridiculous "shoe company" deal? Thanks for any information.

Well if there was a union he would have missed on a huge payday. Assuming he is saying the Union would have protected him and prevented this fight from happening until Brock went through 4 months of testing. The fight would not have happened! He would have lost a huge payday. I'm 100% sure if the UFC gave Hunt the option, (which he had the choice it was his) but if the had asked him are you ok with this your choice, he absolutely would have said yes, because he thought he was walking right through Brock Lesnar based on his previous interviews. Hunt takes this fight 100 out of 100 times if asked is it ok of we waive the 4 month testing. I see a crying Hunt! I also see a guy making more money than he has ever made in combat sports, so I don't see a lot to his argument. That being said what fighter wouldn't want a union! It is just the case he is laying out for himself doesn't work for me.

A union would only work if there is one Major Organization also. You cant have the best fighters spread out over Bellator, One FC ect and have a union. Because the only one that is being held to the Union standards would be the UFC because no other organization has the health plans, steroid testing policies, PPV revenues, marketing machine, fighter support services, extended training facilities were fighters can bring there camps to vegas during press tours and train at the UFC gym. The UFC info structure is so much more, the union would use these items as a basis of what an organization is required to due for each fighter (contract) along with pay increases and retirement plans ect.

So with no other organization having or even able to match the UFC offerings under a union, it is a sense would take revenues away from the UFC that it doesn't from the other organizations. This would not create a level playing field for the organizations across the board.

Unions work in the NBA, NFL, MLB because there is one major league.
