Ballsy statement from him, especially seeing as Stipe, Overeem and JDS have already beaten him (and the Stipe and JDS fights were ugly). Hope he's been working on his cardio and takedown defence.

In 2010, Mark Hunt (12-10-1) had a below .500 MMA record and a submission loss to Sean McCorkle in his UFC debut. Today, he stands as the #8 ranked UFC heavyweight contender, having knocked out former UFC title challenger Antonio Silva and former UFC champion Frank Mir in his last two fights. Where does Hunt go from here? Better put, who does Hunt want to fight? In an interview with The MMA Hour, Hunt didn't specify any singular fighter, but he does want someone highly ranked.

"Any of them is fine," Hunt said. "Any of the top-five guys would be fine."

The current UFC heavyweight rankings (aside from Fabricio Werdum as champion) consists of Cain Velasquez, Stipe Miocic, Alistair Overeem, Ben Rothwell, and Junior dos Santos. Of those 5 fighters, Hunt has faced 4 of them, losing to Miocic, Overeem, and JDS, and winning against Rothwell. All of those top-ranked guys are booked for other bouts, but just in case something happens to any of them, Hunt is ready to step in on a moment's notice.

"If someone pulls out, I'd rather fight sooner," Hunt said. "So if someone pulls out, I'm your man. Give me a call."

This isn't anything new from Hunt, of course. He took on Werdum on less than a month's notice for the interim HW title after Cain Velasquez withdrew due to injury. Ditto for his fight against dos Santos in 2013, which was supposed to be JDS vs. Overeem before an Overeem injury nixed that bout. Hunt lost both times but performed quite admirably in defeat.

In the meantime, it's a waiting game for "The Super Samoan" as the division sorts itself out over a pivotal next several UFC events.11

All the tops guys are already booked, however one of them is bound to get injured so Hunt can just be on stand by as a replacement.

Hunt has got to be the most likable fighter on the roster. Cool respectful dude, exciting fighter with brutal finishing power and will seriously fight anyone anywhere. I don't care who he fights but I hope it is soon. Give him the opening fight on 200 against whatever top HW is available at the time if he doesn't step in for an injured fighter in the mean time.

Overeem, Rothwell and JDS are all winnable fights for Hunto at this point imo.

If im not mistaken Hunts never lost a rematch

Seems like he wants to retire asap.

Idk, he did pretty well against the current champ. Miocic probably beats him again, but I give him a chance against anyone else in the top 10, he already beat Rothwell.

Hunt vs reem arrlovski winner or even loser would be cool with me.

Miocic beats him again most likely, just a bad style for him.
Cain is not the same fighter after so many injuries, USADA might have smth to do with it too.
JDS same as Cain.
So I def think he could beat Cain, I would put money that he beats JDS now, could beat Rothwell though it would be closer now, Reem and even Werdum

He's beat Rothwell, shown he can beat Werdum, can beat AA/Overeem, JDS and Cain are winnable fights. Just Stipe stylistically is his toughest fight. He's a younger, faster and more talented Cain.

Hunt can beat anybody on a good day, but he ALWAYS brings entertainment.
