Hunt had literally the entirety of the second round to KO Lesnar and did nothing. Lesnar had 0 "explosive boxing" or any kind of striking that could threaten Hunt - Hunt could have just walked up to Lesnar at any point and KO'd him but just stood on the outside wasting time.

There was always the threat of the takedown from Lesnar but after the first takedown in round 1 Lesnar was completely gassed and went as red as Dana White's head. Hunt didnt really look in very good shape and really dropped the ball on this one.

Shit happens man...

Lesnar made him look bad.

With the threat of the TD Hunt had to temper his striking and didn't want to get over-extended. He also didn't want to throw big combos that would allow Lesnar to duck under and take him down or use kicks.

Lesnar was also constantly moving and using his hands and reach to keep Hunt too far away to strike.

You'll get a lot of shit for "not giving Lesnar enough credit" but you're correct. It was impressive for Brock to come back after 4 years and defeat a top 10 heavyweight, but neither one was impressive in the fight in general.

Hunt's performance in round 2 was maddening

The range was all wrong for him.

With Lesnar's height/reach advantage, it was too much to overcome the distance and the TD threat. Hunt can KO taller guys and he can KO wrestlers, but it's going to fuck him up when an opponent is both. Every time he wanted to close the distance, Lesnar was feinting the level change and stopping him in his tracks before he was even close enough to connect on a punch.

Where does mark hunt go from here. I just dont think he has it in him to compete with the best guys. Maybe black beast v hunt.

Hunt looked very tired coming into the second round. His punches were slow, he looked afraid of the takedown and he couldn't close the distance. It looked like it was his strategy to catch Brock coming in, but he wasn't able to.

Hunt is done.

I he would be remember like the guy who lost to 5-3 Lesnar after 5 years retired. Shame.

Maybe those rumors of him going into the fight with an injury were true?

Hunt was too fat/slow to fight from the outside and afraid of getting taken down if he got close, Brock is an incredible athlete on his feet and Hunt is ugh not. He really didn't have anything for Brock since Brock wasn't ever going to stand directly in front of him and exchange punches.

Hunt's bread and butter is his punching power, and he forgot to throw punches. Props to Lesnar, but that sucked to watch.

Brock has some crazy long gorilla arms. Those things look crazy.

Hunt felt a Volkswagen parked on top of him in rnd 1, I'm sure it sucked. If he could have avoided he early takedown in rnd 2, he would have had a shot.

Doubt it even bothered Hunt, He got to Co-main UFC 200 ,In fact hes thankful to Brock for such a lovely check.

He didn't fight terribly. Brock did an excellent job of controlling the range. Hunt controlled the second round with his aggression and Brock stayed just out of striking range, and constantly threatened either a straight up shot or a 1, shot, or that 2 throw with which he can cover a lot of distance.

I know people don't like to think of Lesnar as a technical fighter because his boxing is... pretty much not there, but controlling the distance and threatening your strengths are often more important that what you can actually do with your hands. Aldo vs. Edgar was another example of this, but from the striker's side.

Hunt was a bit gun shy in the 2nd round, but the guy is 42 years old. He can still compete with most people outside the top 5 or so.

Give WWF credit he even scared shitless had a game plan stuck to it and followed it through out.
