His first time outside the third round, he had a 5 round fire-fight with Junior Dos Santos and he came out of that fire a different fire fighter.

3 legends, 3 straight TKOs.

And Overeem is next.

The HW division is an anomaly. Anyone in the top 5 can beat each other on any given night because of how heavy the hands are and how sloppy the striking is.

And yet this guy dominates three top-fivers in a row. It seems there may be a pattern emerging from the anamolous chaos

stipe deserves HUGE credit for going back and improving after his losses

Guy is a BOIST

you have to admit, they all are pretty old

Cain and Junior are the youngest of the most plausible threats to Stipe. Not particularly young and a lot more miles on both of em despite being the same age as Stipe.

And yet he loses to JDS who got KTFO by Overeem.

The only pattern here is heavy hands

That Stipe is so hot right now.

Close fight with Junior. Stipe's better now, Junior is probably worse. I referred to this in the OP.

He lost to Struve as well, but I don't see why that's relevant

Reem is dangerous offensive.. and his experience is great but I feel that Stipe can do it.

JDS re-match is a toss up but of course he can do it.

Werdum re-match now I'll give the edge to Stipe especially with the confidence boost he went in there and performed.

Now a real problem would be Cain if he looks good like in the past at UFC 200.

They are but they're all really dangerous. Especially Hunt. AA hand speed is ridiculous, he could KO at any time.
Let's not be a victim of the moment with Werdum either... He was owning guys. Sharp Muay Thai, picking apart strikers to decisions, cardio, chin and instant-death jiu jitsu.

Sleepin'

most likely next opponent is Reem.
he has a lot of mileage, but not in the "war" type of fights like Cain/JDS.

old tigers for sure, but each has lost a few teeth I am sad to admit(because AA is my all time fave HW & Hunt is in the mix as well)

Lol go get a dictionary kiddo, he dominated Hunt*. AA and Werdum were quick KOs with little happening prior to that.

Last thing you should do in the HW division is start a hype train, anybody can get KOd by anyone on the HW roster.

thats what werdum did too. dont get too cocky, cock guy
We're Roy and Travis top five? They definitely aren't on the same level as Stipe's last three name-wise. I'm sticking with Stipe's streak.

I've always kinda felt like Stipe matched up the best with Cain out of all these guys. Don't see him as too big of a threat.

Anyone know his walkout song?

So you think Arlovski and Werdum would do significantly better in rematches, if they were given? I don't.

You're right, it can end whenever. This is why we love heavyweight. From where I sit, this guy has things lined up to break the UFC heavyweight title defense record
