Who did you enjoy more, Hugh as Wolverine or RDJ as Iron Man? Both actors will forever be linked to these roles. For me personally, I've always liked Wolverine and while i like RDJ more as a actor, I dont really care for Iron Man at all.

The guy who played Tony’s father in the first Captain America looked more like Tony Stark in the comics ….you could find an Iron Man not so much Wolverine bc he requires a specific look and is far more complex of a character. Wolverine as the 5”3 guy in the Deadpool cameo was actually awesome bc that’s his real height in the comics I believe ? Jackman has a very strange build long limbs etc …but he definitely pulls it off .

Hugh Hackmans Wolverine is just a cheap imitation of Clint Eastwood born classic tough guy action( and he was too tall)
RDJ nailed and improved iron man with adding nuance .

And? The X-Men movies were decent but didn't really break the box office or change pop culture like Downey did
Ironman had a head start as the first real Marvel Movies outside Spider man as a relatively unknown character in comparison…Wolverine would never be a main character bf it’s Deadpool team up , did Iron man break pop culture? It introduced the Avengers so it had that advantage, the X Men was always far less popular characters I know this as a comic book collector even when they were peak in the 80”s outselling the Avengers which was my favorite and still is though I haven’t collected since the late 90”s .

Iron Man had much more mainstream characters to help out the character like Captain America and Hulk . Even Thor is a niche character and one could argue it’s their best character as far as ability to tell more diverse stories ( blood and Thunder was terrible) and will never be a Superman bc of differences in marketing etc etc…..

I think they are the same quality of movie outside of the Logan one. That one had a little more substance than the other movies.

I am several movies behind the whole MCU lore. I just read that RDJ is returning as Dr. Doom and I am confused as hell.

Got wayyyyyy more range out of the Wolverine character so it didn't feel redundant during the past 25 years.

RDJ Ironman is the more accurate portrayal.

Overall Logan was the best film in both filmographies...Wolverine wins

You can kind of say the same thing about Wolverine and the Xmen movies.

Actually I think Wolverine had an overall negative effect on the x-men. He became too popular and outshined everyone. The movies revolved around Wolverine as a primary character instead of a team of characters. It handcuffed the producers who couldn’t developed the other characters fully. He was the only one with a solo movie. They casted an Academy award winner with Halle Berry and you don’t leverage it into a solo Storm movie!? Fuckin waste..

Same. He did well enough as Wolverine/Logan, but think Tom hardy would’ve been better.

Imo Hugh Jackmanns portrayal has aged badly. He just doesnt have this ferocity and brutality. Even with all the CGI etc he looks and acts more like a ballet dancer or just a very soft guy acting tough. The movies are very much hit or miss with much more miss.

RDJ did not only portray Iron Man very well but the first movie broke the character just in a perfect way to the audience. The pacing was incredible well done to turn people slowly into Ironman fans. So RDJ between the two with a huge advantage .

In later movies imo RDJ just phoned it in with the same now pretty cliche generic behaviour and I lost interest fast because as Hollywood always does, they compensated the lack of an interesting script with more boom boom & flanderization.

Both imo dont hold a candle to Michael Keatons Batman.

- Huge Jackedman. Wolverine isnt that good of a character to someone else to make likeable.

Can I change my vote.

RDJ should win.

Wolverine was already an ultra popular character and another actor could possibly have pulled this off no matter how good Jackman was. Just off the strength of Wolverines popularity.

Iron Man was not on the same level as a Hulk, Spiderman and several others, but was elevated to top tier after RDJ's portrayal. He took that character to the stratosphere.

No one was dressing up as iron man before that movie came out. Wolverine was a household name before the X-Men movie. He would have remained popular regardless.
Exactly. It's a shame Wolverine is winning this because it's obvious the answer is RDJ. I was a huge marvel\comic book fan but never really cared for Iron man at all. He was ok at best. RDJ made him one of my favorite heroes in the MCU.

Robert Downey Jr. is also not faithful to the original version of Iron Man from the 616 comics. He is the opposite of Hugh Jackman, tall, too handsome to be Wolverine, Robert Downey Jr., short, old and ugly. Iron Man was also not a jokester, serious, even depressed, MCU was more inspired by the Ultimate version of the comics. I preferred the original choices of actors: Timothy Olyphant and Clive Owen.
