How would you rank Conor Mcgregor's losses, from most to least humiliating?

I'll just include his losses in the UFC and boxing.

Here is my order, and reasons for it

1) Khabib
Now there shouldn't be any shame from losing to possibly the LW GOAT, but it was the constant cheating + relentless trash talk which backfired on Conor + the magnitude of the fight.

-During the lead up, Conor attacked Khabib's bus, told him he would have been dead if he got off, called him a glass jawed rat, called his father a coward, called him an amateur, basically talked an astronomical amount of trash
-During the fight, he was outgrappled, knocked down by a wrestler, taken down multiple times, ground and pounded and choked out. He was warned by Herb Dean many times for grabbing the fence and other stuff. As if the beating wasn't enough, one of Khabib's corner jumped in and sucker punched Conor too.

2. Nate Diaz 1
Conor talked mad trash, predicted that Nate would panic wrestle but it was the other way around. Nate definitely took away that aura Conor had after dethroning Aldo. Plus Nate had 11 days notice to fight, and Conor had excuses such as fighting guys 3 times the size of him

3. Dustin Poirier (3rd fight)
Poirier had a dominant position and pounded him on the ground quite a bit. I would have listed this as 4th most embarrassing, but seeing Conor's post fight interview bumped it into 3rd place. Threatening to take the fight outside like a thug, and yelling about DP's wife while slumped on the ground was pretty bad

4. Poirier 2 - DP is a beast, and Conor didn't talk much trash in the build up if i remember correctly, but fans still mocked him mercilessly

5. Mayweather in boxing - I don't think this was humiliating at all. For someone with a 0-0 pro boxing record, lasting 8 rounds with one of the greatest boxers in this generation is pretty good, even if Floyd carried him. This fight didn't affect his legacy or aura much, plus it made him richer than ever

That's my personal ranking of Conor's losses from most embarrassing to least. How about yours?

Thanks. Which one was your favorite out of the mentioned?
Easily the Khabib fight. Arguably the biggest fight in UFC history and what unfolded was the emasuculation of a trash talker whose supporters and backers were so intransingently sure he'd win against the "glass jaw guy who can't take a punch", that their obnoxiousness made Conor losing all the more sweet.

Nothing will ever top seeing someone literally beg for mercy during a fight. That seemed surreal. When he tapped frantically, you could see him look demoralised at the end there, right before Khabib approached Danis. In those seconds, you could see a man so utterly defeated.

"Its only business"

1) Nate Diaz - this was seen as picking an easy fight at the time given the available options, no one gave Diaz a chance and he strangled him after making him panic wrestle. The beauty of this is that Conor had mentioned panic wrestling and using his hips to crush Diaz which is actually what happened to him.
2) Dustin Poirier 2 - Even after the Khabib loss, there was the idea floating around that you could only beat him by 'wrestling' which he and his fans dismissed as 'crotch sniffing'. This time, he was thoroughly out struck by Poirier and finished in a brutal fashion.
3) Khabib - Anyone with a brain knew he was gonna get smoked but after all the big talk to say "It's only business" and to be laid on the floor defeated with Khabib shouting over him is an image for the ages.
4) Dustin Poirier 3 - That post match super villainesque tirade whilst sat on the floor almost gets this a number 1.
5) Floyd Mayweather - No shame in losing to the boxing goat. It's pretty embarrassing that he thinks he'd win a rematch though.

Yeah I agree that the Nate fight should have been the most embarrassing due to the caliber of opponent. But i chose Khabib as number 1, due to it being the biggest fight ever, and saying its only businss + cheating etc.

None of them are humiliating. Khabib was always going to be a tough matchup for him/everyone, and there’s no shame in losing against Dustin, especially in the manner he lost the trilogy fight. But someone of Conor’s calibre at the time shouldn’t be getting submitted by Nate like he did.

I do believe in most cases, losing in mixed martial arts is never humiliating, given it takes tremendous courage to step in there. But for Conor, he kind of brought it upon himself by humiliating his opponent in press conferences. Ruthlessly taunting Jose Aldo for months. When he talks trash and backs it up, its great for him, but when he loses thats when it backfires.

I rarely if ever see anyone make fun of Dustin Poirier or Justin Gathje or Al Iaquinta for losing to Khabib. Its only Conor because he runs his mouth non stop

You must be about 13.

I'm not a Conor fan. I would rather we (Sherdog) let him go. In his prime I enjoyed watching his fights. That's the past.

This thread is what it is. But Conor handled that broken leg situation well. I've seen broken legs before but no one still focus on the situation like that before. Mental fortitude? Socipath?

What do you think?

I just rewatched it. Yes he is a tough SOB no doubt, but still, the words he chose to utter made him kind of seem like a sore loser. In the past, Conor always was humble when wins his fights, he congratulated and paid respect to Aldo, Cowboy Cerrone, even when he won the 2nd belt he praised Eddie for being a warrior. But whenever he loses, he seems very bitter, makes excuses and never gives his opponent credit which i believe rubs people the wrong way.

Sociopath/Pyschopath/Narcissist/Coke head/Roid head created this ugly creature.

I mean none of the people he lost to are embarrassing in and of themselves, but I think you pretty fairly highlighted how with some of the lead up he looked foolish. Guy's a great fighter, was never the best but he takes chances so hats off to him for that. His antics can be pretty obnoxious at times though, but those same antics made him plenty of millions.

Got even worse after people left the arena. Drunk Conor fans were losing fights to sober Khabib fans. Obviously sober fighters have the advantage, so some of the lads probably had a pretty shitty trip. Intercontinental flight cost, see your boy lose, probably lost money since a ton of the Irish that travel place bets, and then get beat up in a hotel hallway. Not the best night. There's always the morning though boys. Cheers!
