How would you book WWE?

What is a neckbeard crowd?

I thought neckbeards only refereed to anime dweebs or nerds

Grown men that like flippy midgets and fat guys and hate the guys that actually look like they could whoop ass. These guys actually want Daniel Bryan, a 5'9 180 pound dude to beat Brock Lesnar and somehow they think it's realistic. They also complain about every little thing and are never satisfied with anything.

Have a CW division again featuring Neville as its centerpiece.

Kill the Diva's Revolution and just have an actual Women's division. There is a stacked roster to support it.

Focus more on the tag team division. Team guys like Slater and Fandango (or others) together to give it depth (and also give them air time). Great teams come from journeymen thrown together. NAO, Demolition, and most recently New Day come to mind.

Unify the US and IC titles but keep the Open Challenge each week.

Book the Champion with common sense. Him losing can be done right, but no unnecessary jobbing.

Focus the show around more action and less promos.

How would you guys book the next Wrestlemania?

Who do you guys have Brock wrestling?

Well, It could have worked if they wanted it too

Eddie Guerrero 5'8 220 pounds and they got it to work for him

still short

former cruiserweight champion

Not the look of your typical top guy

Obvious shot at kevin owens?

Fat guys like Mankind, Dusty Rhodes , Bam Bam Bigelow , Dudley Boyz ?

Yeah I like fat guys including Owens

I guess all this makes me a "neckbeard"

I like Owens, and all others mentioned. You can find out for yourself what a neckbeard is, I've obviously done a bad job defining it.

No worries

Im not trying to get into a flame war or anything

Just discussing wrestling

Dont think im some asshole

Another tag-team I would form would be Bo Dallas and Adam Rose. They would have the same gimmicks that they currently do, with Bo being the "motivator" and Rose being the downer. There is potential for lots of laughs with both these guys having similar gimmicks on the opposite sides of the spectrum. Their motto would be that they need to tear people down, in order to build them back up.

There are so many tag teams out there that could be made to give depth and air time to the lesser used guys...

Sandow, Rose, Dallas, Axel, Fandango, Slater, Swagger

Personally I would re unite Cesaro and Swagger. There were a great team as faces.

Fandango and Slater were money on Swerved. Have them wrestle as Slater and Johnny Curtis though.

Miz and R Truth could reunite as Awesome Truth (a very underrated gimmick)

Not sure about the Rose/Dallas pairing. It might work.

Sandow and Rhodes were a decent pairing too.

I would keep the belt on Rollins and have the Authority give him a sort of "sink or swim" ultimatum where he has to prove that he really is the "Man" they thought he was. Call it tough love or whatever. And, while not totally getting rid of the snarky, smarmy, cheating heel aspect of his character, let him get some legit wins on his own, even if he's cheating, it has to be HIM cheating, not someone else interfering on his behalf. If the crowd is responding to him positively, you can toy with the idea of turning him face - he's proven to himself that he doesn't need the Authority, and now begins to see they were just using him all along. If the crowd doesn't start to like him, then you've at least legitimized your heel champion as a true threat and tough guy to beat for the title.

Have Reigns turn. First, after losing to Wyatt, have him get into a little with Ambrose, but not all the way. Then (as someone smarter than me suggested in the PWD thread) have him go off on the fans for booing him, leading to another confrontation with Ambrose. I wouldn't pull the trigger on a full Reigns/Ambrose feud right away, though. Turn Reigns into a lone wolf type heel who is a silent killer. Have Ambrose hold onto hope that he can get his "brother" back, but realize that it's probably not going to happen.

At the Rumble, heel Reigns and face Ambrose are your last two men standing, and they eliminate each other a la Bret and Luger. They are put in a match at the next PPV to decide who gets the title shot at WM. Before the match, and in light of Rollins beginning to pull away from the Authority because he knows he doesn't need them, HHH and Steph approach Reigns and tell him they like the new side of him and that maybe they misjudged him in the past. Reigns and Ambrose start off with a fairly squarely match, that devolves into Reigns going full heel on Ambrose on the outside, smashing him into the post and slamming him on the announcers' table. Ambrose is having none of it and goes lunatic fringe on him. They both grab chairs and shit and fight into the crowd, resulting in a no contest.

As a result, the main event of WM becomes a Triple Threat Match as the Shield explodes: Rollins (c) vs. Ambrose vs. Reigns. Rollins is still, at least in name, the Authority's guy, but he's wary of them and doesn't fully trust them. The Authority is courting Reigns, either because they want him to replace Rollins or as a contingency. One thing for sure, they don't want Ambrose to win, which, of course, he does, after a bruising triple threat match.

To keep up the story from last year, Ambrose pins Reigns for the win, so for the second straight year, Reigns takes the pinfall to lose the main event, and the champion doesn't actually get pinned. Reigns goes apeshit after and hits a spear on Ambrose before Ambrose can even celebrate. Ambrose is down and Sheamus' music hits. He's going to cash in to close out WM, but before he can, Rollins returns to the ring and takes him out with a flying knee, sending him rolling out of the ring and scurrying away without having cashed in.

Rollins and Ambrose stare at each other as Ambrose slowly gets up. There is no handshake or anything, and Rollins leaves the ring. Ambrose's music hits and he celebrates his first WWE title win.

Semi-related to this storyling: part of the legitimizing of Rollins title run will include a win over Cena either in December or at the Rumble. This will be a part of the larger storyline over Cena not being able to win the title. He can beat Rollins for the US title or in non-title matches, but can't get it done when the WWE title is on the line. This is part of a story where the pressure of tying Ric Flair's record is weighing too heavily on Cena. In a perfect world, this leads to Cena turning and aligning with the Authority to finally get over the hump, but in reality he'll eventually just dig deep, never give up, and overcome.

Look at the ideas I see on wrestling forums....do the exact opposite.

NXT is awesome, but those guys appeal to a neckbeard crowd. Like I constantly tell Lucha, that is the minority of the wrestling business. There's a reason a guy that gets Boo'd everywhere he goes as a face is still the top moneymaker and top guy, it's because you can't hear little kids cheers over grown mens boos.

Why are the ratings for RAW so bad then?

For the record, I don't even watch NXT, but you can't argue with the numbers and less and less people are tuning in every week.

I would book as if it is just like a sport where you've got matchups and eliminations and possibly seasons. The matches should also focus more on agility and acrobatics instead of just feats of strength a la puroresu and Lucha Libre. That's not to say they can't have gimmicks and over the top scenarios because I love all of that.

I'm also all for Damian Sandow, I think he's fantastic. So is Ziggler and the Miz. I think Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose are boring as hell. I don't mind Rollins and Bryan.

- Bring Back the Raw/Smackdown draft. It's boring watching the same wrestlers in the same matches on both shows on a weekly basis.

- End the divas revolution. Stop doing 3 vs 3 matches, just have 1 on 1 or tag team matches. Start integrating them with men in some storylines (no relationship crap)

- Tell Big Show and Kane to either retire or go. Stop pushing Rusev and Sheamus. These guys imo are so bland and boring, it doesn't matter who you pair them up with. Instant change the channel when they're on.

- Start pushing Bo Dallas, Sandow, Zack Ryder, Slater, Cesaro and others.

- Get rid of the goofiness; singing, dancing, super heroes, etc. Shit that's cringeworthy and just embarrassing to be a wrestler fan.

- Have more diverse matches; cage, ladders, tables, elimination, street brawls, hardcore, etc.

- Have Eric Bischoff and some nxt wrestlers do an invasion. If not, just build NXT like a rival of WWE.

Football season, baseball playoffs, ratings are always low this time of year.
