How would Tito Ortiz do in Pride?

Sak should've been in the UFC at that time, fighting guys his size like Pat Militech, Carlos Newton (again), Matt Hughes, etc. He had no business getting curb stomped by guys like Arona.
Saku didn't cut weight he should been at 183 fighting Hendo, Bustamante, etc...

He wouldn't have cut to 170

But yeah the Arona fight was absurd.

That being said beating guys like rampage, Randleman, going distance with Igor and Crocop give him top 5 legend status

I love Sakuraba, but to be clear, he didn't go the distance with either Igor or Cro Cop. He quit in both fights, against Igor because he was exhausted from the Royce fight and decided win, lose, or draw, at the end of one round he was done, and against Cro Cop he suffered a broken eye socket and threw in the towel. But he's got balls of steel for even stepping into the ring against those legendary heavyweight destroyers.

Recency bias IMO

Tito would be limited with no elbows but he'd have knees. That being said I could see that being used against him Ala Wand v Saku. Yes Wand might actually beat with those rules reversed.

I'm pretty sure he'd beat Saku and the other Japanese guys. Hell, he did beat Bader in the twilight of his career
Recency bias? They're all from the same era. lol

Nothing about any of those fighters is remotely recent. The most recent thing mentioned between our post is ironically Tito beating Bader. Though, I'm not sure how Bader is similar to Sakuraba.

You’re high, this would have been Tito’s division in Pride back then:

Wanderlei
Rampage
Shogun
Hendo
Arona
Overeem
Vovchanchyn
Sakuraba
Yoshida
Randleman
Ninja
Bustamante

And UFC had who?

Tito
Randy
Chuck

and no one else.

This was right around the time Chuck went over to compete in Pride GP and got his ass handed to him by a guy who was basically Chute Boxes doormat in Pride.
Ok maybe my timeline is off by a year or two. There has been so much cross over between the 2 orgs

However i see Tito beating a good part of that list (irrespective of who was in which org)

All i can say is...
He was good at UFC undisputed 3 with Pride rules lol

He has beaten Wanderlei few months before Wand beats Hendo but I don't think his wrestling would be as effective as was in UFC. I can see him beating Sakuraba, Overeen, Yoshida, Murilo Ninka, Igor and maybe Minotouro. I think he would got beaten by Rampage, Shogun, Hendo and maybe Arona
He's only beating Yoshida and Ninja in this list.

Tito Ortiz was a hot name literally after his win over Ken Shamrock.

If we say Tito would have Signed with pride 2003 and his opponent was Kiyoshi Tamura, Kazuhiro Nakamura, Ricardo Arona, Quinton Jackson and Alistair Overeem.

How would he do?

This is a great question & one I always thought about. If we’re talking about that time frame exactly, he looked unstoppable around this era so I think would have beat Sakuraba, Overeem, Jackson, & Wanderlei again. I think fights with Arona, Henderson, & Shogun would have been good competitive fights but I could have seen him losing those too. Ahhh what could have been…..
