How would Rory Mac do against Colby?

I wish Rory were still in the UFC.

I think he could handle Colby handily.
 
He would force him to stand and fight. He's bigger than RDA and has good TD/TDD. Better striker than Colby by far.
 
Don't we all wish Rory was back in the UFC. The UFC didn't want to overpay him more than 60k for his troubles.

Would be a really good match-up...Covington would not dwarf MacDonald in size like he did Dos Anjos, and Rory is at his best against wrestle-boxers.

Rory has trouble with guys that can move and have good footwork- a guy like Covington who uses size, strength and forward pressure is a much more favorable match-up than someone like Wonderboy.
 
Well Rory couldn’t panic wrestle the whole fight like the way he won his belt in bellator.

Rory would be smothered and he probably gets his beak nose broken again
 
It would look exactly like Esparza vs Joanna
 
Colby would wall and stall and Rory would get injured early. Boring ass fight for sure.
 
Colby would drown him with his relentless pressure. Also he seems like the poster child for #NERDBASH2018.

In 5 rounds, Rory breaks Colby

Colby could put his face in Rory's crotch and push to steal 2/3 rounds.

If they fight to the end, Rory wins every time.

If there is anything we learned about Rory in his UFC years is that he crumbles during big fights

he showed heart in the bellator title fight but he is going to need to show me a lot more before I put him in a conversation with Colby
 
Ez win for Rory. You cant make him play Colbys game.
 
Rory would handle him everywhere, stronger than him and RDA.

Are you suggesting he crumbles in big fights, just because they are big fights? or gets hurt in them? You think Colby is nearly as threatening or capable of applying damage like Lawler, Lima or even Condit and Thompson?

If the suggestion is "the pressure of a Colby fight would break him", I think that's silly. I think Colby can take rounds from Rory. I won't deny that. I also think if Colby doesn't improve in 25 min fights, Rory gets a stoppage on him after 10-15. He's bigger, stronger and a smarter fighter than RDA. Colby will have to work harder than he did this weekend, and tire faster.

I do. He's off in Bellator about to fight a big middleweight. Hasn't this guys nose been through enough?
 
PreLawler Rory would shut Colby down.
 
Rory would jab him to death

Styles make fights people. Colby can't hold Rory down, he can't count on Rory gassing and Rory has the power to back Colby off that RDA was clearly lacking in his strikes and the strength to shuck Colby off of him on the fence

And he's much more effective than RDA from long range. RDA has always done his best work as a pressure fighter, Rory is perfectly comfortable sitting behind jabs and kicks on the outside
