How would Mousasi do in UFC’s LHW division?

Gegard is an amazing fighter on his best day, he can beat anyone. Unfortunately he is inconsistent, sometimes he brings his A game and sometimes he forgets to show up. He would be top 5 guy but not champ.

Mousasi destroyed recent LHW top contender Thiago Santos (who gave Jones all he could handle) in 4 minutes. He’s a former Strikeforce LHW champ and as well rounded as it gets. He has also competed at HW submitting the likes of Mark Hunt in 1 minute.

I think he could be champ. Jan would be a tough fight but I see the well rounded Moose winning.

What do you think?

You're lucky Silva never had to fight Mousasi during his title reign.

I think it's really unclear at this point who the best 10 LHWs in the world are.

Beats everyone at MW and at LHW apart from Jones (if he counts). Too well rounded, with a good chin

Moose fights at the level of the person he's fighting. That's why he barely wins fights most of the time, no matter who he's against. He generally does what he needs to win and no more.
He has 47 wins, he finished 36 of them. In 56 fights, 14 have gone to the judges. How is that "Barely wins fights" ...?
In 12 UFC fights he had
Latifi at 205 - where he outstruck Latifi 80-20
Machida - had two knee operations and came back and had a very competitive fight with Machida.
Munoz - 1st round finish
Jacare - sub loss
Hendo - First round finish.
Costas - Out struck him 137-12
Hall - Mauled Hall in the first round out striking him 34-5 and then ate that kick to start the second round.
Leites - Out struck him 99-19. Stuffed all 10 takedown attempts from Latifi.
Santos - First round KO
Belfort - second round TKO
Hall 2 - First round KO
Weidman - second round TKO

The only competitive fights he had in the UFC he lost (Jacare, Machida), the Hall fight wasn't even competitive. The first round was a mauling and then Hall took him out. Other than that, he ran through everyone he fought.

LHW not great imo
MW top 5 for sure

Moose would be one of the best UFC LHWs. Jan would be a solid fight and Moose could very well take it. He could definitely be champion.

Thankfully we will get to see Moose compete in a better LHW division.

Mousasi is great but could never quite put it all together during his UFC run. I think his last fight against Lima is the start of his decline.

Mousasi is elite for sure, one of the very best, but he's a little bit inconsistent. He has the skills to become a UFC champion, but I don't see him being a dominant one.

I think he could beat Jan, but I don't think he could be any kind of dominant champ or even defend. I think Izzy would pick him apart. Even guys like Rakic might be too much

He is far too inconsistent to ever be champ.
I hate to agree with your statement, because I think he's an absolute stud in the ring/cage and a fairly decent guy, but you're spot on with your statement. His skills are there, but I think he's just too laid back.

As for UFC LH division, I'd like to see him win Bellator's LH division first.

In fact winning Bellator's LH division might be tougher than winning UFC's

He got his ass handed to him by Shlemenko, doubt he'd have much success in Bellator's LHW division.

Do to a upkick.

That's why it was a draw and not a win, but still, he didn't finish the corpse of Jardine. The very next fight Luke Rockhold (not the world's best boxer) KO'd Jardine in the first round. People who think Mousasi has an almost guaranteed chance of KO-ing someone like Reyes are delusional.
