How would Jon Jones have done against Fedor’s best competition in PRIDE?

Big Nog would have gotten the sub via armbar or triangle during Jones ground and pound era. Vitor nearly took his arm home.
Coleman would have gotten him down and ground and pounded him because Jones doesn't hit hard enough to stop endless takedowns.
Crocrop probably knocks him out via LHK.

He would do ok against some but not make it through that gauntlet.

I don't think Jones would go to the ground against Nog, if he did Nog would beat him, but I don't think Nog could make him go to the ground. Jones went to the ground willingly with Vitor, with Nog he wouldn't.
 
I remember when Sherdoggers were carrying on about how Shogun was going to destroy Jones. They were saying it would be a return of the Pride days and Jones would finally be exposed. Cro Cop would have a kickers chance not much better, Jones beats the rest pretty easily. He hasn't lost in UFC, and he's faced a lot of fighters who could have been a champ in Pride. While he's looked pretty plain in his last 3 fights. The Jones who fought Shogun? Machida? Belfort? Vera? He would have been a champ in Pride without question

I think he would have to. People forget but Big Nog could box and Jones has always been weak in the boxing range. Big Nog also was never afraid of being hit. he would just crash into Jones and drag him down due to being bigger.

If you mean heavyweight Jones we have never seen then even more Big Nog. Every advantage Jones would of had is negated by being a fat slob.
 
The answer is no one knows.

Jones never fought someone like prime Crocop or Big Nog. Vitor came close to that armbar, imagine Big Nog?

Jones is most talented fighter I've seen, but it wouldn't have been a walk in the park for Jones.

I also think the cage suits his style much better.

If Jones is a natural hw, I'd say he also beats them all because he was so talented. But he's not.

More interesting question to ask is, how would Jones have done against NOG's competition?

Fedor may be goat, but talent wise I think Jones is the best I've seen. Now was he clean is another question that no one knows an answer to.

Name a Pride fighter that could never be guaranteed to test positive that juiced pre Usada era.

We have seen full juicy Pride Jones for years and it was good. This recent Jones is non juicy Jones.

I know Nog could box but Jones is very good at using his reach advantage. I'm not saying Nog would have no chance but Jones is very good at MMA wrestling and is very good at controlling distance.

The gloves prevented eye pokes and Pride rules rewarded grapplers or attempts to finish. Jones style recently would have earned him yellow cards. Hellbow Jones would be different, but likely to get subbed. Jones has been winning 48-47s for years in fighhts that would potentially go the other way in Pride. Let alone during the best era in a division he still hasn't fought in.

I thought we were talking about prime vs prime. Prime Nog vs Past Prime Jones is a different story.
