Pressure and cage work with takedowns
Conrad. Bad cardio. Good power. Slick. Fairly elusive. Beaten poirier before, brutally even.
It was widely agreed that Dustin would be best served exhausting colin. What would the best way be? Standing and trading, defending etc may not be the way imo. I don't think conor would sleep him with the first few punches... Not even gaethje could do it. But it's risky.
Would trying to wrestle him be a good idea? Coron has good tdd, but it's not bulletproof. Would that work or would dustin exhaust himself trying? His takedowns are decent. He snuck one in on gaethje ffs
Would wall n stall be a good idea? Wall n stall and dirty boxing? Going full usman?
Teeps and refusing to engage?
What do y'all think would work? I'm sure he and his team have a smart way of doing it and they aren't thinking of swanging and banging.
Nate is not good tho.Even if it goes past 2 rounds, I'd still be hesitant to give Dustin the win. Conor ended up winning his first full 5 round fight, against Nate diaz who has a better chin and better cardio than Dustin.
idt Dustin can survive the 2 round beating that Conor gave Nate. He dropped Nate multiple times. He did the same thing to Eddie Alvarez, who couldn't take it.Nate is not good tho.
Dustin is better than both guys, especially nate. I don't respect Nate's abilities tbh. I don't think he takes the same beating in rds one and two tbh.idt Dustin can survive the 2 round beating that Conor gave Nate. He dropped Nate multiple times. In the second round of both Nate fights, Conor slowed down towards the end of the round. In the Eddie fight that didn't happen because he finished Eddie. And even then, he looked relatively fresh doing so, although Dustin is a better fighter than Eddie.
Dustin could very well take that beating, since Conor has beaten Dustin in the past in under 2 mins.Dustin is better than both guys, especially nate. I don't respect Nate's abilities tbh. I don't think he takes the same beating in rds one and two tbh.
You think nate would beat alvarez, gaethje and hooker? No.Dustin could very well take that beating, since Conor has beaten Dustin in the past in under 2 mins.
And even if you think Dustin is better than Nate, Nate is still more durable and has more cardio than Dustin. Yet Nate ended up losing the 5 round fight against the so called "no cardio" Conor.
Personally idt Dustin is better than Nate, and if he is, its not by much. Just compare the similar oppoents they fought (MJ, Pettis, Jim Miller). Nate pretty much did better against all those guys than Dustin did. Hell, Dustin got ko'd quick by MJ. The same MJ that Nate outclassed.
He would school Alvarez, he's a better boxer than Eddie and is more durable and has more cardio. Eddie got tooled by Cowboy of all ppl.You think nate would beat alvarez, gaethje and hooker? No.
Dude that is the worst case of mma maths. Eddie knocked out the guy who slapped nate diaz around... RdaHe would school Alvarez, he's a better boxer than Eddie and is more durable and has more cardio. Eddie got tooled by Cowboy of all ppl.
Nate could beat Hooker.
Gaethje is a wildcard, i think he would be Nate because of leg kicks.
But this is all hypothetical and what if's.
If you look at what actually happened, fact is that Nate beat MJ and Conor, two guys who smoked Dustin. Nate finished Jim Miller and he handily beat Pettis. Dustin barely won a decision against Miller and beat Pettis due to a rib injury Pettis sustained.
Dustin and Nate are both good fighters in their own right.
Like i said, you're going with hypotheticals, I'm going with what actually occurred and the facts we have. Thats why I'm comparing how both Nate and Dustin fought against similar opponents, and fact is Nate did better than Dustin in every single matchup. So it's hard to say that Dustin is definately better than Nate.Dude that is the worst case of mma maths. Eddie knocked out the guy who slapped nate diaz around... Rda
Nate beat cowboy who beat bendo who fucked nate up
Pettis beat hendo who ripped nate a new asshole... But. Nate still beat pettis. Mma maths doesn't work. You're telling me nate has good cardio. He's not the only one. His opponents don't need to match his cardio. Being in the same ballpark is enough. Jorge beat the snot out of him with his cardio. Eddie never gasses. He would definitely beat the breaks off him. The only issue would be reach. Otherwise eddie could outwrestle him, kick his legs, out box in the pocket. Nate would lose bruh. Hooker... Cardio.
Gaethje would clown nate.
Simple rule. If they're elite nate loses. It's that simple. That settles the hypotheticals. The takeaway is nate id durable but sloppy, slow and awkward. His bjj is fantastic but his wrestling is garbage. Dustin is admittedly, until further notice, less durable. Durable but less so. He's also superior offensively with his striking, faster, morr defensively responsible striking and wrestling wise. Dustin has inferior cardio, but nate isn't colby either. They both have a cardio and grappling advantage over conor. But i don't think dustin can replicate Nate's gameplan. It's not down to skill. Poirier can replicate everything nate did and better. It's just dangerous. So I'll agree with you on thr durability and cardio. But I'm adamant about thr boxing and overall skills. Nate would never have gotten this far. Also dustin doesn't constantly avoid fighting wrestlers or "crotch sniffers" or hage a tried tested blueprint on how to kick his ass.Like i said, you're going with hypotheticals, I'm going with what actually occurred and the facts we have. A fight is a fight, Nate could win or lose those hypothetical matchups. We will never know till it happens.
