I wonder how Grizzlies would fair if they were introduced to African countries? Obviously that will never happen of course, but in some other weird world it did, i wonder how they'd go competing with the hyena and the big cats?
I suppose they wouldn't really cross paths with lions that much as lions like the open plains don't they?
What about tigers in Africa? Again they'd be in a different habitat than the lions, but probably the same as the bears.

well, i dont know if they would fully adapt to the heat and the lack of a heavy winter

He's obviously not asking to think to deep about this..

Just how would they fair with other animals if it did live on the continent. No need to be to specific about the answer.

We all get it can not maintain in Africa due to living habitat. Just how would it fair??

I think it would do alright, against most but I guess as the jerk up there ^ is proposing... Depends on if in a jungle or savanna..?

I think they would have it's time in a jungle, with all of them tasty Gorillaz.

But then again, would love to see a good bear or two v. Hyena or lion.

What about strongmen in gorilla country?

Large bears would own a lion. Only a tiger, elephant or rhino or wild hippo couls take them. I don't think any crocodile could. But no tigers in Africa right?

Bears will just like hyena steel food from lions gepard and leopard on tree where they hide food from others

And bears can smell food from miles

But people would kill them all

I have no idea how bears would do in Africa, I on the other hand would make a fortune with my Bear Barber Shop franchise.

The survival game is all about adaptability to the environment. Grizzlies and Black Bears have evolved to survive in forests and will likely die in an African Savannah in a few days from starvation/dehydration/murder by local predators.

They are heavier and stronger than lions with thicker skin more muscle and sharper retractable claws. Also larger teeth and stronger bite. I think only polar bear is strong enough that it' skin be harder to penetrate. But idk Bears are beasts. A crocodile could kill a tiger by catching its legs which are thin. But bear legs are massive.

Some of the more successful animals in Africa are pack animals, which a bear isn't. I think the 'packs' would wear down the bears and kill them off.

Americans are always pointing out all the dangerous animals in Australia but coming across a large bear in the wild would scare the crap out of me.

@Zookeeper Gabe Would probably give the best answer one this.
Aren't there some bear species that live in more tropical areas in Asia? They might do fine. Since bears are omnivorous they might not directly compete with carnivores.

Yeah there are some in Asia.
The bear in Africa would have to be in a forest type habitat. I wonder how a big grizzly would fair against a Silverback Gorilla. The male gorilla always does a bit of bluff charging, doesn't he? But if he saw the grizzly weren't leaving he'd have to fight or run. Good amount of meat on a big gorilla.

I've seen some shows on this guy in Africa who keeps tigers and breeds them on his large acreage.
I think it's called 'The Tiger Man of Africa?'

Bears can adapt to live anywhere.

So they would do very well.

Polar bears evolved from brown bears, as they was cut off from massive glaciers.

They can evolve and adapt to the ice, they can evolve and adapt anywhere, imo.

The bear would get sucker punched and his air jordans stolen.

Observe.

And that is just a black bear. A grizzly has a much bigger head and about 250lb more body mass.
No predators would fuck with a fully grown bear.
