It hurts it a lot. It went from being the best card of the year to *just* a very good card. Casuals will only be interested in the main event and the Ngannou/Lewis slugfest which probably isn't enough to get their attention
Huge Blow. 3 great fights turned into 2 and honestly the most anticipated for hardcores was the one we lost. Casuals...I dont know what they buy. I'll still buy it but....they really should charge $45 for barely PPV worthy, $55 for good PPV cards and $65 for great cards. We lose a match from a great card like this one its -$10. Lol....yeah right.
I doubt Ortega will take a last minute replacement and risk his spot (the way he stepped up to fight Frankie)....unless Dana comes out and says he’s making Max move up a weight class and the (replacement) fight is for the vacated belt.
I’m resigning myself to the belief that Hall vs Costa gets bumped to the main and Lewis vs Ngannou gets bumped to Co-main.
It’s still a pretty good card....but it went from card of the year to a “pretty good” card.....(there is a chance both of the HW fights end up gas fests....)
It was probably the most intriguing fight on the card -- but Felder / Perry could be bumped up to the main card as it should be a barn burner. Costa / Hall could also fill that spot which is another great matchup albeit with a lot less importance that the cancelled fight
