On point TS, great thread, concise and excellent.
I'm not sure how this will affect the casuals, but i think they will continue to be UFC shills like back then when SF had many great guys that were supposed to NOT be competitive in UFC (according to them), turns out most of them were very successful.
You lost me at “marketable ethnicities”
Some ethnicities are more marketable than others from a promotional strategic standpoint, so i don't know why are you bitching about it, it's a fact, it's much better for UFC having a interesting prospect like Yair Rodriguez fighting out of Mexico than a prospect fighting out of Russia, Iran or Egypt.. for many reasons.
Curtis Blaydes is not a top five fighter in the world. I needed to get that out. Aliakbari would skull fuck him, and he is probably not even in the top 30 right now.
Both are probably top 25. Maybe Curtis isn't a top 5, but he is certainly a top 10 and in any decent ranking would rightfully be ahead of Aliakbari, rankings aren't about "who would win", they're about fight results, accomplishments, and thus far Curtis has better wins than Aliakbari.
The best fighters will always go to the place with the highest pay. Until Bellator and others are dropping million+ paydays for a single fight they will always go to the UFC.
Well turns out that these good LHW/HWs outside UFC are receiving more to fight at Russian promotions than they would receive in UFC, and that's why UFC doesn't have a great roster in these weight classes, most top prospects are fighting out there for more money than 12/12k + reebok sponsorship
