You have official weigh ins, then you have fight night weigh in, fight night weigh in is 1 hour or less before your actual fight is takes place, they record and announce it by Bruce buffer and on the tale of the tape. Bruce says "Official weigh in, 155 pounds, fight night weigh in 186 pounds for Khabib N." Then you may hear some boos from the crowd, he will hear it on social media and the press? Lmao forget it. All the baggage for making weight cuts public won't be worth it for a fighter. They will be shamed into fighting in their proper weight class. This may shift everyone up a weight class but who cares??

And someone like Khabib can try and defend himself and say "But I made official weigh in! That's all that matters!" Well yeah but he's also missed weight quite a few times and felt like he was going to die 1 time and completely pulled out. But I don' think UFC wants to open that can of worms just yet. It may make the UFC look bad, but if Bellator did something like this first, it may later be expected to be adopted by UFC soon after.

The baggage and shame would amount to absolutely nothing, obviously. Since virtually everybody is doing the same thing, and there would be no sanctions involved, it would just be giving us better information for purposes of the fight (and future betting lines?).

But it would be fun.

The shame would not be as bad as it would be if you missed weight yet still fighters are missing weight regularly.

If anything it would become a badge of honour for some people. See how much weight I can drop, see how big I am compared to these guys?

I just don't see what this idea would bring to the game

It would give viewers relevant important information about the fight they are about to watch? It's a joke that a 168 lb BJ Penn can fight a 190~ lb GSP and all the fans know is that it's a WW bout, for example.

This was a thing in boxing awhile back. Not sure what they do now, though.

I agree that it would be an interesting thing for fans to know.

It would not, however, prevent fighters from cutting a lot of weight or missing weight which is the point of the OP. That is my opinion.

How about fighters take responsibility and stop looking for a weight advantage by risking their health. Hall having seizures, Cyborg crying in the tub, RDA passing out, Khabib's organ shutting down. Morons. No sympathy here.

Fight night weigh in would mean your weight class is what u weigh on fight night. So in order to be in a lightweight fight and ranked as a lightweight Khabib would have to be fighting you know.... as a lightweight

Right. The OP was mistaken, so I co-opted it.

No. This is the way:

I like the idea. Even if it does nothing I wanna compare the cut amount.
