How the hell does Sean O'Malley make weight?

You're 100% right. I took stats classes in college and I know what a correlation is (unlike @Mike ). But you also need to realize when you use ad homs in an argument, people will not listen to you. So I don't know what your point to correct him was, other than to feed your ego.
I took statistics as well. A correlation, even a strong one, statistically speaking, does not equate to every tall guy will weigh more than every short guy. It still falls more or less under a bell curve, the way nearly everything does.

And yeah, the guy was being a dick

Small frame (narrow hips and chest, thin shoulders, small joints etc) and almost no muscle mass. One hell of an athlete though, and there's weight classes in MMA so it doesn't matter.

When you're using a big enough sample size, like say billions of people, the number of people that fall outside of two standard deviations will still be large.

Speaking in raw numbers, not percentages. But if you don't spell every single point out here people don't get it, and what's more they assume you're the idiot for not wanting to waste your time.

No.

It's really not that farfetched for a skinny as hell 5'11" young guy to weigh 145-150 then cut/dehydrate down to 135.

height is definitely correlated to weight. IN fact it's fairly strongly correlated
Derp we've been over this. Is the correlation so direct that every taller person is heavier than every short person? No. That's why we use weight classes and not height classes. A strong correlation statistically speaking doesn't mean EVERYONE, and with billions of people as the sample size the outliers are still a large group of people.

I guess that had to be spelled out in walls of text even though it's obvious.

I heard Cerrone is around 176 or 178 (forgot which) in the cage at WW like TS. You consider 5'11-6' and mid-high 170's to be very thin? Wonderboy was around there against Woodley in the first fight too lol.

Cerrone barely cuts weight, that's why he's always available to fight and/or be a last minute replacement if needed. He walks really close to WW. That's why he has so many fights on his career, he can fight more frequently than guys that has to cut a lot of weight.

I'm the same height as him, I'm connsidered pretty thin as well. If I tried to make 135lbs, I'd literally die.

How much weight do you reckon he walks around at? Because I'm pretty thin but I still walk around at 176 lbs.
He’s got a boy body still. Muscles haven’t even developed

A strong correlation does not mean that EVERY tall guy will weigh more than every short guy. It means in general the taller you are, the heavier you are. If you look at weight classes you can clearly see the average height increasing in each one. Of course there are always exceptions. If it being taller meant you were always heavier that would indicate a perfect correlation which is extremely rare.

Because I’ve seen more fat on a greasy fuckin French fry.
Dudes arms are like a pair of pipe cleaners.nam sayin?

If O'Malley cut that bird's nest on his head I'm sure he'd be able to make flyweight

Height has almost nothing to do with your weight. Why is sherdog so obsessed with height as if an extra inch will make you 20 lbs heavier?

Well there we go. I think we're on the same page now. That's all I've been trying to say from the start. Perhaps no correlation was too strong of a word to use, when I meant not strong enough of a correlation for something derpy like height classes.

Maybe because this is sherdog I didn't expect multiple people to use correlation in the scientific sense. Half the people here can't do basic math tbf.

CBD must be some amazing shit.

He's 5' 11" and walks around at 150 lbs.

A skinny guy, but I've seen worse than that w/ youngsters. As he's getting older he'll probably move up in weight.

Sean said on the joe rogan podcast during the looking for a fight show he was weighing 138 pounds soaking wet, i think he only weighs 145 pounds walking around now.

Goddamn woefully tatted malnourished vegan hipster with shit hair...

Edit: Ive now been watching for 6 minutes and Sean hasnt said a fucking word.

Great guest, Joe... A 21 year old stoner - sure to get some deep life insights from that tool.
Sean actually talks about how he ditched veganism because he felt so drained. I believe he now does a diet of eating meat and eggs 4 times a week with plants filling the rest. In any case Sean is actually quite insightful given his age. Don't understand the hate.

I’m 5’11 and fight at 135. I’m just a naturally skinny dude who runs a lot and don’t lift weights.

Having reach advantage is pretty cool but dealing with 5’7 tall wrestlers that are built like little balls of muscle can be a real pain in the ass if you can’t keep your distance. I really like Seans game and I try do use my lengt in a similar (less successfull of course) way.
