How the hell do you get addicted to meth?

They start off with weaker drugs like Weed. Then they start to get a tolerance for it and need a shit ton of weed to get the same high. Slowly they move on to stronger things to get the same high like Cocaine or whatever. And eventually someone tells them Meth will give you the biggest high of your life. And boom.

That's why weed should stay illegal. It all starts off with the weaker drugs. You don't just start taking meth as your first drug. Or maybe you do, IDK..

Weed and meth have opposite effects. You won't do meth to chase the high gave you when you had lower tolerance.

Weed is a getaway drug because the same guy that sells you weed can sell you anything. When I was 15 buying weed my dealer would have cocaine on the table and ask if I wanted some, or pills.

If weed was legal you wouldn't have that. Just like with alcohol. Actually alcohol made me try a lot of drugs. When I'm drunk I don't care and I smoke cigarettes and accept lines from my friends, I'd never do that on weed.

It's the same reason anyone becomes addicted to anything.. take it from someone who has been sober for 14 years from all drugs and alcohol.

It has nothing to do with the drug.. it's a personality disorder that makes people want to not want to deal with reality and current state of affairs. People that are depressed and live with resentment use anything to push off coping with life. Whether it's gambling, sex, cocaine, crack, meth, etc.

I have read a lot of dumb shit today. But this is the dumbest.

Easy.

I remember i went to the hospital for a kidney stone and it was excruciating pain until they gave me dilaudid through an IV.

That seriously felt euphoric and it was at that moment that i could see why people would enjoy that.

You get addicted to drugs mainly because you are not content with your life and it serves as an escapism

A person that is happy and lives a productive life is not going to be easily addicted to a drug.

It's not the drug per say that gets you hooked but rather your way of life and state of mind.

Because we live in a world where stupid or should I say curious people want to try all kinds of different drugs to experiment a high.

Didn't you post a poll on your favorite Breaking Bad characters earlier? Shame on you for not knowing the power of blue crystal!

That's a pretty bold statement. Also, depends very much on the drug.

I've never done meth or even seen it in real life. But I've heard stories of people getting meth passed to them in a pipe & they smoked it by accident assuming it was marijuana. They didn't get addicted though

Because it's euphoric and it fucks with your brain chemistry. It's not physically addictive, but it fucks with your head hard to where that's all you think about. It's an easy trap to fall into.

Going full reefer madness huh?

Weed also makes black youths rape white women.......true story!

I've always disagreed with the idea that weed is a gateway drug. Most weed smokers only smoke weed. I smoked weed for about 10yrs & never tried any other drugs. Now days I could give zero fucks about weed or any other drugs. It's all a waste of money imo

But I do see your point & agree weed shouldn't be compared to hard drugs. Some people might think if they've tried weed now they've done drugs & might as well experiment with harder drugs

Ive known a few people who have done meth and they said it wouldve been extremely hard to keep doing it everyday, and that it does not have some uber immediately addicted effect. I guess its just most people who are exposed to meth are in a social environment where its easy to keep getting high. I believe i could try meth and never want to do it again

I've never seen meth in real life, but aren't the two substances smoked entirely differently? I cannot imagine mistaking a meth pipe, or crack pipe, for a pipe that has weed in it?

Someone knows their controlled substances.

<{1-10}>

I'm not sure if Jenkem is controlled. It's inhaling fermented sewage, and was mostly a hoax in the US (although some idiots tried it lol).

You don't. You just like being high a lot. The 'addiction' is nothing when compared to drugs like alcohol, benzos or opiates. People who go to detox for meth are in there for a day or two, basically the amount of time that it takes for them to not be high anymore.

Also OP, you haven't heard one 'success story' because most functioning members of society who do it/have done it don't tell people about it. When you know someone has done meth, it's usually because they're someone who has had their lives ruined by it. They are only a percentage of those who have done the drug though.
Or you could just look at their eyes, face and teeth. You can notice a typical meth user. Now, if they just dabble once or twice a year, that's one thing (still stupid as hell).

Anyways, the answer to the OP is "You do it." The drug isn't going to do anything by itself, you have to ingest it one way or another for it to have any kind of control over you. Put a bunch of meth, heroin and crack in the corner of your room and see what happens over time....nothing. But put a bunch of meth and heroin junkies, and crackheads in the room, and there won't be anything left in the room.

This. Don't the two smell completely different? Weed smells strongly of weed and meth has a chemical odour, no?

This is true for some substances, like meth, that are all psychological. Opioids, benzodiazepines, alcohol, that's a different story.
