How strong is it to do rope climbing without using the legs?

Yessir.

Joining aside, I don’t know. I would imagine quite difficult. Like if you can’t do 10 pull-ups with good form, probably won’t be able to climb a rope using only upper body.

It's times like this that make me really love bent over rows. They are for everybody, including very heavy people like me. (260 pounds)

Depends on body weight. Big dudes struggle hard on this in my observation. There was a huge shift in my rope time from 180# to 200#. My overall strength went way up with that extra 20# but my grip strength wasn't comensurate.

Guy I used to work with was about 160# and just left his ODA unit back to regular army. Typical broken 40 year old in the military. We had about 8 ropes in a row that went up 25 feet. He grabbed one in each hand and just alternated yanking himself himself up with no effort. I went inside to rethink my life.

Depends on bodyweight but pound for pound I’d call it upper half

do you know what Mittel is ?

It depends on bodyweight. Also specialisation. You might rope climb like a ape, but I might out bodyweight squat you ect. It´s who got more over all. It is pretty strong though any way you slice it. It´s a good feat.

Ja.

Du hast Mittel und Mitte vertauscht. Du kannst nicht richtig deutsch. Allein schon wie du mit "ja" antwortest.
Es ist mir egal. Diese platz ist ein karate forum, nicht Deutsche klasse. Und in ein signatur.

Diese is the most stereotype mistake

Are you from Germany or America ?

Short explanation

Mitte - middle

Mittel - means

I'm ok with my German being shitty. Its not needed in the states, and few are fluent in it. Do you go out of your way to become fluent in English grammar?

No it´s cool that you speak any, props. Extra knowledge is great to have. I was just checking if you are from Germany too as I am half way from Germany. This message is sent from Germany. I´m not a German but born there. Like did I find another German speaker on sherdog as 80% seem to just be North Americans.

Yes bro. Took me 20 years of sherdoging and youtubeing and social mediaing and musc listening and 8 years of school to make as less grammar mistakes as possible. I was not great at school but english was my thing. So I´m not highly educated by got perfect Croatian, German and dare I see close to native level English speaking skills.

Good deal. I can’t imagine being fluent in 3 languishes is easy. Learn Spanish and Mandarin, and you’re pretty much set.

I am not learning anything anymore. I didn´t learn those languages either. I was born in Germany grew up there and in the Croatian part of Bosnia. My parents speak Croatian and my whole family. I always spoke those 2 languages. That is not merit, you just get born into 2 languages, doesn´t take effort. Kids can be easily bilingual if they are from a ethnicity and grow up in a different speaking country. I lived both in Germany and Herzegowina. I only learned English which a lot of other people globaly have too, especially in Europe. Had it for like 8 or 6 years in school than later just trough using the internet. I was heavy into music and wanted to understand the interviews and song lyrics, of American music. Also sherdog is english. A lot of social media I followed. Youtube in general. Pride and UFC commentary. So basically I got the languages for free and never studied for them. Actualy I did learn english, gotta give myself credit, simply cause it was fun and the things I liked were in english, by just using computers, phones, music cds.

Speaking German Croatian is super easy when you lived 45/55 split in both countries. In Germany I also use Croatian daily. In Herzegovina I used to watch German tv or catch something online sometimes in German. You don´t forget what you learn as a small kid. It´s forever in your brain.

And I "practice" english daily, by using my phone / computer. Music, Sherdog, Youtube ect.

All the new imigrants to Europe are all bilignual. They speak the country where they moved to plus their original country. Basically people speak Arabian and German ect. Plus english is popular in Germany so it´s common for people to have some english knowledge in various degrees, from awful to very good.

Let´s say some Moroccan person moves to Germany or is born there. They will speak Morrocan so either Berber or arab, they will speak German, and than there is a chance they also learn english and a chance they can speak french. So they will speak 2-4 languages.

I mean people who arrive later into a different country often also can´t speak the language even after 10 years or speak it broken. Not everyone is fluid. Depends where you grew up. The combo is grow up say in Germany so you will know it, and than at home your parents speak your original language. At school everyone will have english, some pick it up some not, some more some less. English is the most popular language in Europe. It´s always the neutral language, if two people speak different languages, english is expected to be the common ground.

Dual ropes feel more natural than single. Maybe it's because arms don't like being straight overhead anymore. Both smoke the lats. Do it while holding L-sit to make sure your feet don't try to help out.
