How soon could Gane be considered the HW GOAT?

I'm a huge Gane fan. His striking is just amazing, he turned Ngannou into a whole wrestler, he ko'd Tuivasa, Lewis, JDS, etc.. He is just great already.

The fact that he has only been in MMA like for 4 years and he is at the top already is just amazing!!!

I feel he could be the UFC HW GOAT he got all the potential, if he beats Jones and then Miocic, he is going to be the HW GOAT already in my eyes.

This man's only loss is against Ngannou and from what I remember it was a close desicion that could have gone either way, I remember he took Ngannou to school at stand-up and turned him into a whole wrestler, he received no damage tho, so he barely lost by LnP?

Other than that he was a win over: Tuivasa, Lewis, JDS, Volkov, Jairzinho, etc.. If he adds Jones and Miocic to that list, ohhh boy, there could be an argument.

So what do you guys think?

Let him get thr belt first all he has to do is defend more than 4 times that's the hw record...

The final three rounds were all, easily, Ngannou's. The first was the only toss-up round. The entire viewing planet agreed with the scoring (both 48-47 and 49-46), which was a unanimous decision.

If you're saying "if the fight had been different than it was, the outcome COULD have been different," yeah, then maybe it could have gone a different way.

If you're talking about the fight being so close that a legitimate judging decision could have gone either way. No chance. And I was rooting, big-time, for Gane to win.

JDS was awesome. Didn’t kick like Gane does but he was one of the first full sized HWs I recall having such quick and fluid hands.

Agree. I like Gane a lot, but his resume is very thin all things considered. The fact that he has 5 ranked wins out of that mess speaks more to the sad state of HW these past few years, and the rankings shenanigans that the UFC engages in more than anything else.

Stipe is still considered the UFC HW GOAT but he got the most title defenses in the UFC HW division which is 3, that's not that much, I think Gane can overpass it.

And Ngannou has 3 losses, 2 in the UFC.
Gane has only 1 loss but it wasn't even that bad, I think that Ngannou's win wasn't even impressive tbh and that was his only title defense

He has to fight some wrestlers / grapplers, at least Blaydes and Aspinall because his ground game didn’t look good vs Nouganou and the other guys he fought were strikers

Gane currently 0 fight streak no claim on next title fight

Lost his last 2 title fights jbj is the champ game is a gate keeper at best
