I'm a huge Gane fan. His striking is just amazing, he turned Ngannou into a whole wrestler, he ko'd Tuivasa, Lewis, JDS, etc.. He is just great already.

The fact that he has only been in MMA like for 4 years and he is at the top already is just amazing!!!

I feel he could be the UFC HW GOAT he got all the potential, if he beats Jones and then Miocic, he is going to be the HW GOAT already in my eyes.

This man's only loss is against Ngannou and from what I remember it was a close desicion that could have gone either way, I remember he took Ngannou to school at stand-up and turned him into a whole wrestler, he received no damage tho, so he barely lost by LnP?

Other than that he was a win over: Tuivasa, Lewis, JDS, Volkov, Jairzinho, etc.. If he adds Jones and Miocic to that list, ohhh boy, there could be an argument.

So what do you guys think?

Imo it won’t take long after he finishes jones, that’ll give his resume quite the boost.people will try to hold a razor close decision loss against him, but ufc fans forget quickly, but I’ll linger for a bit longer

after that maybe 3 or 4 more defenses

Skills wise I already believe he’s the best he just has to back it with championship wins

It would be cool if he beat Jones (a LHW coming off a 3 years hiatus after two questionable wins), and then beat Stipe, who lost his last fight, hasn't fought for years, is older than most sherdoggers and first and foremost known as looking like Woody Harrelsons lost twin brother.

So yeah, I dunno.

I don't think he will, because he lost to Ngannou.

Even if Gane beats Jones, Stipe, Blaydes, Sergei, Aspinall, which is far from guarantee,

Ngannou would have a win over Cain, Stipe, Blaydes x 2, Gane himself, Overeem, JDS, Rozenstruik, and Arlovski.

So it will be very tough to put him over Ngannou.

And then he'd get compared to Fedor overall and Stipe in UFC.

Sorry, I don't think he will ever be. But he's probably the most gifted heavyweight of all time.

But Ngannou got so much hyped when he ko'd Miocic in the rematch even tho Miocic was old already he got ktfo by a former LHW before that
 
Probably not that long compared to other divisions.

4 or 5 title defences.
 
Honestly I just want to see the HW belt defended a LOT more frequently, as well as see more frequent fights for Top 10 Heavyweights.

For context, Fedor fought ten times in 2003-2004.

At the rate the top UFC Heavys fight, it will literally take most of them 4-8 years to fight ten times. It's ridiculous.
 
Well, a good start would be actually winning a title and defending it three times. Until that happens (and it's only happened once in the history of the UFC, with Stipe), he's not even in the conversation for UFC HW GOAT.

Now if you're talking all-time HW GOAT, going undefeated for a decade and winning over 30 fights in that span might get people talking. And if he goes on to fight for 23 years and amasses 40 wins and multiple title defenses in multiple organizations, now we're really onto something.

9-10 MORE ranked wins???? Does stipe have that many ranked wins? Gane already has 5 ranked wins against Lewis, tai, volkov, rozenstriuke, and jds. You’re saying he needs 15 ranked wins to even start talking about it?

Stipe is still considered the UFC HW GOAT but he got the most title defenses in the UFC HW division which is 3, that's not that much, I think Gane can overpass it.

And Ngannou has 3 losses, 2 in the UFC.
Gane has only 1 loss but it wasn't even that bad, I think that Ngannou's win wasn't even impressive tbh and that was his only title defense

I never was high on Stipe myself, but he is the consensus UFC hw goat.

But Gane still lost to Ngannou. So he'd need to do better than Ngannou first. And it'd be pretty difficult to do better than Ngannou, we will see. He'd need to beat Jon first.

How many does Gane have now? Fedor is HW GOAT; he had an undefeated run in which he had 11 ranked wins, beat 5 former or future UFC champs, had 3 PRIDE title defenses and 2 WAMMA defenses (I don’t weight WAMMA defenses as highly, of course).
These are the types of metrics that Gane needs to surpass. And obviously he’s nowhere close to that.

Stipe has 8 ranked wins, 3 defenses his first reign and a 2nd reign with 1 defense.

If he beats LHW Jones, and Stipe, they'll just be washed up names to add alongside JDS......

Look, I'm not saying that Gane sucks or anything, but let's reel this shit in a little bit. Fedor was champ for 4 years and went undefeated for like 10 years or something. Gane seems talented, but we're jumping the gun by a large margin with this thread.
