I'm 16 not new in martial arts whatsoever. Now I want to make a career with MMA(I know alot of guys my age say this). But I'm going to a new school which is 1 hour travel and I have to be there at 8:00 so that means getting up at 6 if I want to be there at time and about 7 hours of school and obviously 1 hour travel back to my house. Now I want to train 7 hours a day to get wellrounded so when I get home I have MMA training, after that hit the gym. When I get home I have about 2/3 hours of homework. Is this healthy to do for 2/3 years? I'm already making my body adjust to standing up early (5:45) but with so little sleep will it even be healthy or is it ok to do this?

If you eat right-lots of green vegetables-fruits-lean animal proteins and don't drink alcohol or do drugs-you should be fine. Drink only water, coconut water, acai or other drinks very low in sugar and sugar substitutes. I'd cut back on the 7 hours a day of training tho-at your age 4-5 is enough. Do that for 6-8 months or so and see how your body feels. Don't be afraid to take a day off here and there to recover, and after the 6-8 month period, try a boxing specific gym in addition to your mma training and bump your total training time to 6 hours a day (even more if you include cardio). Road work (running and jogging outside) is great for your physical and mental health also. Remember your initial preparation for combat sports is a marathon and not a sprint, so don't beat yourself up because you need some down time to relax here and there. Good fortune to you and keep me updated!

yes, I don't drink or anything, no bad fats no nothing bad for an athlete, its just I want to be better then anyone I will face in the amatuer fights at my age. I will keep you updated :) thanks for the very usefull comment I just don't know if I'll cut my training down to 4-5 simply because I'm at the gym for 2 hours, then 2 hours mma and then I can't get a keen edge. Ill try it though!
