Seems like Dustin and Tony are butt hurt about Michael Chandler's pay. I haven't found anything stating exactly how much he is getting paid. Anyone here know or have a link?

There is a thread about it on here somewhere. I may be wrong but I believe it was 350k

Isn't this the same in the corporate world? Senior employees who don't want to change companies get less overall salary than guys that get experience and move to another company?

Poirier and Ferg should move to Bellator or ONE to get a salary increase.

Corey Anderson is probably banking right now.

They probably gave him that much because Bellator was making a deal to keep him as well.

Imo he deserves more than Poirier and Ferguson.

He's been an elite / top 5 lw for a long time. Just in another organization.

I see him as a bit more established than those two.

Although Poirier has definitely carved a name for himself recently, Chandler has been at the top for a lot longer.

good on chandler he's a legend in the promotion he fights in which is probably the second biggest promotion world wide and has fought and beaten former ufc LW champions such as eddie alverez and benson henderson.

This would be like Stephen Bonnar complaining that shogun was getting paid more than him when shogun just came from pride.

banking 25/8

Between 100-400k. Depends if he only has show money or show/win in his contract. Could see him getting 150/150 Or 200/100. I believe will Brooks got 50/50 and Alvarez 100/100 on their debuts. Really don't think Chandler would jump ship for 50/50 or 100/100.

Ferguson has 29 Pro fights. Been fighting since 2008.

Poirier has 33 Pro fights. Been fighting since 2009.

Chandler has 26 Pro Fights. Been fighting since 2009.

They all have similar experience except Chandler has the less fights. The only reason Chandler is getting payed more is because he was a champ. But both Ferg and Poirier would have been champ if they fought for Bellator.

Look what happened with former champ Ben Askren. UFC's roster is on another level so lets see what happens with Chandler in the UFC first.

How many fights you have is one thing

How long you've been at the top is another

Chandler has been a top 5 lw for a long time.

Ferguson and Poirier have carved a name for themselves in the last few years but Chandler has been there for a lot longer.

In terms of skillset he remains one of the scariest fighters in the division as well.

It's entirely possible that he runs through much of the current top UFC LW's.

That’s just how things work. If you sign a guy when he’s young and build him up like Poirier and Ferguson, it’ll be cheaper in the long run. But when you get into the free agency game you have to overpay to convince talent that it’s worth making the jump. Bellator has to do the same when UFC fighters jump ship. It’s just how business is.

Like I said, both Ferguson and Poirier would be champ in Bellator.

Being on top at Bellator or One doesn't mean shit until you fight the very top guys which are mostly found in the UFC. Just look how Ben Askren turned out. He was undefeated then got exposed as the one dimentional wrestler that he is.

Not saying Chandler isn't a top caliber fighter but let's not put him over Ferguson and Poirier just yet.

The UFC's LW division is historically one of the best divisions ever, period. Chandler has not fought the same guys those 2 have.
