I don't believe 2 hard sessions 6 x a week.

Any infos ?

Personal knowledge, not from google.

I mean pro athletes. Whether fight game or other sports that are played.

So not bodybuidling or powerlifting. That is different from my goals.

Something strength cardio skill.

Like for martial arts.

Really depends on the sport

In many sports something like this can be common:

Monday, Tuesday a.m, and p,m,
Wednesday one session
Thursday fri a.m. and p.m
Sat one session
Sunday off

Obviously some sessions are hard, some easier

But it’s too broad a question when open to “all sports”

That's already a good answer. You said alternating 1 and 2s and some hard some lighter sessions. And a day off. Good info. I rest or do a hard session every time. Every session is hard for me. Unless I came to the gym and it closes in 50 minutes considering 10-15 to get clean and leave. I never do 2s. Mixing some lighter and more adaption. Could get me to experiment with 2s. Gym is not that close to be worth it to go for 1 hour light. Perhaps a light run and 1 real session. Some pylos outside in nature. Or one relaxing bit swim work bit stretch and bit sauna than evening a good real one. I mean some people live right by the gym. Or in Thailand book accomondation 10 minutes walk. Than it's "easy" to go twice.

Or do a early bit run bit jump rope. Easy on time.

That isnt gym sessions though

That's total training plan

E.g.

Mon
A.m. technical training (appropriate to sport)
P.m. gym

Tues
A.m. run
P.m. box (technical training appropriate to sport)

Weds
1 session only, technical training

Thu, fri, sat as above

I know. What else ? Or what you mean gym session. Fight gym and weight lifitng gym are the same thing. As in the word gym applies to both. Running is simply a training session too. Whatever the training is. 1 session is a session. How long are the sessions in this example. 1-1.5 ?

Ah man, really depends on the session

Gym (when I say this I mean strength training for clarity) ~ 75-90mins

Running, depends on stage of season and aim of the session. Maybe 40 mins to an hour, including warm up

The tech-tac sport specific sessions, 1-2 hours again depending on the nature of the session. E.g. with amateur boxing are we talking 1:1 pads session with coach, a bags session, sparring, school boxing? Etc

2x a day 5 days a week was norm when i still trained

Everyone had rich parents so they could afford lifestyle

Not really, stating a fact and whining are different things.

In any case being financially secure is extremely important in pro career since one injury can end it
Sometimes the best fighters come from the more difficult starting points. The hunger for success.

I've see a lot of regiments.

Usually the serious pros go 2x per day 5x per week. With one of those off days and "active recovery day".

But people train different. Some people call a 45min weight session 1x training. Others call a 3hr weight session 1x. Some guys do 5x rounds sparring once per week a 1x. Other dudes are drilling an hour, then doing 5x rounds sparring, then an hour of weight lifting and call it 1x.

I saw a pro kickboxer do 5x rounds on the mitts, then do 10x rounds of sparring, then do 5x rounds of heavy bag. I did the mitts, 2x round of sparring (him), then 5x rds on the heavy bag and collapsed. He got on the assault bike and kept going. That's the reason they are pros.

Tldr: 1x per week can mean anything.

I see pros lifting 2-3x per week, cardio 2-3x per week, sparring KB 1-2x per week, wrestling 1x per week, drilling and pads 3-4x per week. If I was 25 yrs old and a pro I think that would be my routine.

Seriously though, yeh, a lot of truth to what you say.

This routine needs like 2 mma classes and 2 bj classes. If it's a MMA fighter.

If I was 25 I would train.

Even if you take the bottom end of his ranges thats 9 sessions i think.

Add your 4.

13 sessions - only say Sunday afternoon off? Or going 3 times a day some days?

Too much I would say. At least to do for an extended period of time

I've worked with athletes in international and Olympic programmes in sports such as boxing, swimming, athletics, rowing, squash, rugby 7s, etc etc etc

The schedule i showed was most common with some perhaps doing an extra session. E.g. 1 full day off, one half day off

I think if you are training hard in each session it's very difficult to do much more than that for extended periods of time

I didn't mean ad them. I meant it's way to little grappling for a MMA fighter. 1 wrestling session and zero bjj or mma classes. That is all.

Ah ok, yeh, sorry I did mean to finish my previous post by saying exactly that

Swap out some other sessions for the additional technical work
