How many times a week do you train Muay Thai?

I only train 2x a week due to work and a busy school schedule this quarter. I use to train 4x a week during the summer in muay thai and pentjak silat but now its been slimmed down to muay thai twice a week.

I train twice a day monday and tuesday I train once on thursday and once on sunday.

I think its very individual , if you have the time then you can train 8 hours a day if ur fine with it .

If I would train more then 4hours in 1 day , I would get my muscles overtired and then I wouldnt do anything for the next 4 days xD .

So if u want to be good and train a lot , train a lot through the all day , with lots of breakes . With time you can theoreticly go to some 8hours a day ( if u would want to , but I doubt u would ) ...

So the way I would do it if I would lets say train 1 hour every day or something I would with time add some training time-after 1 week ( or less, its individual ) I would add 30 minutes of jogging every day , then add 30 minutes of exercising in the gym , then I would instead go to 2 hours of thaiboxing and 30 minutes of jogging ... its really individual .

More closely to the question u asked , it will be better if u train 1 hour everyday then 2 hours every second day .

Only problem with training more times a day which happens to me is that if I train 2nd time in the same day , Im really horrible in sparring and I end up getting really beaten :D its like Im slowmo with reflection time 1second longer :P .

But hey as long as you dont have migraine problems with overheating after too much training in days in which u didnt sleep enough .. go for lots of training if u want to ,and have time ... u might suck in the beggining , but ur body will get used to it .

Muay thai- 2x week- 3 hour sessions
Boxing- 4x week- 1 hour sessions
Sparring "class"- 1x week(optional for me)- 1 or 2 hours.
Jiu Jitsu 3-5x week- 2 hour sessions

Every morning i wake up, run, and train Muay Thai and/or Boxing on my own (skipping, shadowboxing, technique, bagwork, conditioning). Then i do grappling/jiu jitsu solo drills, sometimes with a partner. I even do light shadowboxing when i am watching TV, at work, on the computer, etc. pretty much all the time. But that doesn't count towards my training.

I try to get in at least 3 hours of training every day. It seems like alot for an average joe like me, but i dont go balls out hard core every day. The only time i go all-out is during class(es). I train every day to make it a habit, since it's already a big part of my thoughts/life/internet browsing history why not train it everyday??? I also do it to instill solid muscle memory, kind of take myself to higher levels spiritually....don't ask.

This is fine. For a proffessional fighter who earsn money through fighting.

For me and most of us who who work full time or study full time, training is a 3 night per week deal. 4 nights a week if I'm lucky.

5-6 times a week, usually about 1.5 or 2 hours at a time. I run as well, at least 4 times a week.

im only competing at an AM level. but i get what you are saying. I work and go to school both part time, it leaves me a lot of free time.

how do you guys train so much? I am lucky to have time to make it 3x a week.

3x a day althought the first is brief i wake up at 5 do all my bag work until 6:30 take a shower then go to school. After i get home i train my conditioning iwth bag work until 6:00 then i do homework until 7:30 then go to my muay thai classes at 8:00.

This has been going on for a month now. so 5x a week unless i got homework or a projet so i cut it down to 3x

edit: oh yes and i dont go all out i probably go lightly in the morning. As someone said up above i dont train hardcore until classes.
