The second fight was closer than the first. Trilogy needs to happen.
 
Max won the last 2 rounds in the first fight and won the first 2 rounds in the second. So 4.

Max was outworked in the 3rd and 4th resulting in getting taken down and having his leg kicked out at one point. Volk landed 10 more strikes in each round, had the control time and a takedown. How does Max win those rounds? Volk was landing equal shots.

Max won the third, he didn’t get out worked in the 3rd at all. What are you talking about, you literally time stamped end of third round if you watch till the end of the round it shows max out landed volk in the stats, watch the round closely, max was walking volk down most of the round, volk did land some good shots though. Thanks for the free fight link. But you are wrong.

Only reasonable options imo are 2-4 rounds.
Max AT BEST won 1 round in the first fight and AT BEST won 3 rounds in the 2nd fight (I thought he won 2 though)
My vote is 2 rounds between the 2.

It was razor close. You could score it for either guy, but Volkanovski definitely outworked and outlanded Holloway.

He won one of the rounds in the first one, can't remember which, it's been a long time, but he def won the 1st and 2nd in the rematch.

Any time a popular fighter loses we have threads on sherdog claiming it was a robbery.

I'm a big fan of max but he lost both of those fights with volk, decidedly.

Great fighter, though. The clear number 2 in the fw division, miles ahead of anyone else in fw not named Alex. Well, no that's not true. Not MILES ahead of Jair. A good few yards ahead, though.
 
I picked three. I remember the first fight as a shutout and I though Max took the second 3-2, but I am just going off foggy memory.

It's just not on Sherdog, the MMA media and overall fan scores had it for Holloway.

The first fight Volk won, but the second fight Holloway won. Both were close fights, I have it 1-1 so far, and the judges won't have expertise greater than mine

5 rounds is the correct answer overall.

1st fight Holloway won 2 rounds
2nd fight Holloway won 3 rounds (and those other 2 rounds were draws probably)
 
1st fight was 49-46 Volk, 2nd was 48-47 Holloway.

3rd round in 2nd fight was very close though. Can understand those who give it 48-47 Volk
