How many PPV buys do you think UFC 240 will pull?

Tbh people mainly buy for the main event and Cyborg's numbers are(or WERE, PPV numbers don't really exist anymore) better than anyone's except Jones's, Conor's and Khabib's. So maybe just maybe this can hit 6 digits. Don't see it hitting any sort of basement other cards will reach. If UFC 234 had been around pre ESPN plus I believe that one could have went below 50k.

There are multiple articles, FrankieNYC (rip) talked about this a lot in a thread and broke it down. That's why he never took the "ufc is dying" people seriously, the ufc are making more money than ever before. The only one getting conned here is espn. Plus tv deals is their biggest money maker plus that new Abu Dhabi deal. Hell even bt sport numbers show that more people in the UK are joining them to watch the ufc that's why they (the pricks) are starting to charge ppv for certain cards.

Big issue with this logic is why would a subsidiary being conned renew that deal? Why would a subsidiary's management that's dumb enough(in a business that's doing terribly, ESPN that is) to be conned still be in office seven or eight years from now. This logic is correct for quite a few years, issue is what happens next and how much of a PPV audience will be left when that sweet deal(inevitably because of how sweet it is)comes to an end. Remember the Fox deal didn't get renewed, UFC found a better deal, who's to say that will happen next time if the PPV's are worth like a quarter of what they were when ESPN signed on?

I think this deal can work out good and free the UFC from being beholden to casuals and drive the quality of the product up. But this could end up being a long term disaster. ESPN ain't doing good right now, any executives who've made Dana any sort of promises for a long term committment could be gone tomorrow, I know he's dealt with that before on Spike. Issue with this deal is it could make the UFC dependent on an unsustainable arrangement to survive, cause the ESPN plus thing is going to reduce an already shrinking PPV base.

RIP Frankie:(

The espn getting conned part wasn't serious but I agree with you 100%, where does the ufc go after this deal is up? PPVs are down and are getting worse and worse, so far some of the fight night cards have been filled with crap. You know, espn might seem crazy for giving the ufc so much money but Disney+ is coming and it's going to be a major player, they're looking at putting it along espn+ and hulu in a bundle with a good price so espn probably wins in the end. Look at all the great movies coming up, most are going on Disney not Netflix or Amazon. Hell, they're putting every future marvel movie on Disney, it's the only place you can watch captain marvel.

All in all, the ufc always seems to find a way, and they're starting to do more and more tv deals around the world, maybe espn ends up staying with the ufc and offer them a new deal in the future?

Who the fuck knows? They're not releasing any data on the ESPN+ numbers.

This is what's funny about that thread the other day asking when there would be another McGregor.

How the fuck is these supposed to be another crossover star when the biggest promotion in the sport is buried on an app and none of its top fighters are getting any exposure?

Dana is willing to kill the sport just to reassert control over the fighters.

Why would anyone buy this hot steaming pile of poo? The last Fight Night was better.

110k if they lie about it, 75k actual.
