How many posters have really died?

Where all dead

We are in purgatory right now

Can't you tell by the new improved modified Sherdog

It isn't real

I suppose another question would be how many posters have really lived?

There's a thread in the Plats about it.

Well, we're not plats. Do we know anymore than just motorcycle accident? Anyway, that's too bad. I remember him on here often. I don't remember if I liked his posts, but I'm certain he and I debated at some point.

Wow. I had no idea about bearVSshark. I remember him posting about the pilot script not too long ago.

That's too bad.

@bearVSshark died recently.

He made a thread about a month ago about how he'd just got a script approved to be made in to a pilot tv show. I messaged him saying I'd be interested in being involved if he needed anyone, so we exchanged details and became friends of Facebook.

Then, a couple of weeks later, in my Facebook feed, I just saw a list of people posting RIP etc to his page. Have no idea how it happened... Although the tone of the posts on FB made me think it was suicide.

Pretty crazy. Still have no idea if he actually was going to make a pilot or if it was all bs.

Damn, how incredibly sad. He had great taste in music and always nice to chat with. I've also seen a lot of names in here that I had no idea they passed. What a depressing thread. I'm leaving now.

When you count all of sherdog' past and present members, we've had enough people here to populate a small city. It only makes sense that some will have passed away along the way. The only reason we don't have deaths more often is due to the fact that most of us are in roughly the primes of our lives and not having to worry about diabetes, heart disease, strokes or cancer. If our membership was more evenly spaced among the population demographics we'd lose members on a weekly or sometimes daily basis.

It reminds me of a time Louis CK was on the Tonight Show a few years ago. Louis asked Jay Leno how large the show's viewership was, to which Jay said something like 16 million or whatever. Louis' response was along the lines of "Wow! So several dozen, or hundred people watching me right now aren't even going to be alive by tomorrow morning." Jay was just like WTF but Louis explained that it's simple statistics and that in a group that large several people could die that night, whether from natural causes and diseases, to being involved in motor vehicle accidents, or even murdered.

So applying those principles to Sherdog, whenever someone asks "Where's Kimble?" It is absolutely a realistic probability that he has in fact passed away, as sad as that may be.

Man, this thread is super depressing and reminds me how quickly life can be taken away.

I had no idea about HuntersCreed and BearVsShark - hoping they are in a better place now.

I guess we have different sensitivity levels to the general mention of the topic of death.

Someday I'm going to be dead, and Sherdog will be like...what happened to BisexualMMA?

I hope somebody busts out some Pet Sematary when the time comes for me, but...

Whatever, no disrespect intended.

A wise man once said that death smiles at us all. All we can do is smile back.

"there is only one thing we say to death....not today"

When you die I will make a thread with your diss track in your honor.

Was that from the Kurt Russel film Radiator?

I had no idea about BearVSShark, I had a few good chats with him, he was a good dude.

RIP to all of the posters that have passed away.

The funny thing is, if I died tomorrow, no one on Sherdog would know, because I don't really talk to anyone on here. I'm sure that's the same for a lot of 'known' posters here.

I know right. Should we all share facebook accts or something so that people would know what happened if we passed? This thread is bumming me out man lol

Kansas was really heartbreaking for me. I had a good relationship with him from posting together for years in the Serious Movie Discussion.

Hunterscreed was tough too, but i didn't talk to him nearly as much.

It's on his facebook.

On May 6th at approximately 12:01am, a motorcycle was traveling on the east bound off ramp of I-4 approaching the intersection of SR 33. A white semi-truck was traveling south bound on SR 33 and had just passed under the I4 overpass. While approaching the intersection the motorcycle operator applied his brakes and locked up his rear tire and skidded for approximately 90 feet. The motorcycle then fell to the ground and slid across the roadway for approximately 25 feet. The motorcycle continued to slide into the intersection at which time it impacted the trailer of the semi-truck. The semi-truck pulled over to the side of the road.

The Lakeland Fire Department and Polk County Fire Rescue responded at which time the operator was pronounced deceased on the scene.

Members of the Traffic Homicide Unit were notified and responded to the scene and the accident is still ongoing. The roadway was shut down for 5 hours during the investigation.
