International How many people have capitalism killed?

Everyone who dies from lack of proper environmental regulations is a victim of capitalism.

Corrupt governments kill people, regardless of the system of government they employ. And nearly all major government is run by criminal psychopaths.

A lot. It might be a bit of a stretch to call the old monarchies "capitalist". For sure, somebody was capitalizing, mainly the aristocrats, but it has been commonly agreed, even in previous times, that capitalism requires certain features, like free trade, to even be effective.

You could attribute everything that the U.S. has ever done down to capitalism. And most of Europe past WW1 when the old monarchies fell. If you're going back to the times when a king was ruling over a country, in border-line feudal circumstances, then it's probably a stretch.

reasonable take

The old monarchies were absolutely capitalist. They were the fermenting grounds for Marx, ffs.

What he saw with worker and slave exploitation justified by “god” through “the king” informed his philosophy and understanding of the world.

If the old monarchies had been something other than capitalist we would never have gotten (been plagued by?) the communist manifesto.
