How many of Trump's campaign promises are left to do?

Drain the swamp?
Infrastructure spending?
Eliminate gun free zones?
Reform mental health?
Expand CCW permits?
Not take vacation?

That's just some off the top of my head.

TS and thread remind me how easily Republicans can be conned.

Here's a few off the top of my head...

DONE
-NAFTA restructuring done.
-Obamacare appears gutted (mandate repealed, not replaced though, at least in name).
-EU deal renegotiation appears done.
-North Korea apparently making peace.
-Syria bombed to hell in response to apparent chemical attack. Russia did not retaliate.
-Major tax cuts.
-GDP growth and unemployment are both excellent.
-Trade deal apparently eminent with the UK to aid Brexit.

NOT DONE
-No Border Wall.
-No tax returns ever released to my knowledge.
-China trade situation appears to still be a stand-off.
-Hillary not in jail and probably never will be.

What else?
North Korea and ACA repeal need to get moved to NOT DONE. It's not that they will never get done, but NK is not taking steps to denuclearize, which is the whole point. And the ACA repeal failed (should Rs keep control of Congress I expect them to try to repeal this again).

Also, the Syria bombing is a weird add here. That's not a campaign promise but a response to chemical attacks, right?

Getting the individual mandate removed is a huge win and at least counts as a partial victory.

I know your butthurt won’t allow you to recognize that, but nobody cares. The fact is that it got done.

PS, they Syria bombing is keeping his word that America will be tough again.

That shit is undeniable. We have the best military leadership in our lifetimes.

Trump is wanting to get rid of Mad Dog, that's not what I would call great leadership.

Huh? Not only have I acknowledged that I actually criticized the move, so you whiffed again bud.

And it's a plain fact that the ACA repeal failed. If I wanted to, I can still buy Obamacare. I think you're the butthurt one.

What a joke. You realize how sad removing the individual mandate means compared to repeal and replace when you have control of both houses and the Presidency? Pathetic.

Strong presidents would have definitely gotten repeal done. Shit, any of the ones running would have gotten it done.

Basically if you weren't an asshole to McCain it would have gotten repealed.

The supposed purpose of repealing and replacing the ACA was to put something better in its place. That "something" clearly never existed beyond Trump talking about it. But in Trump talking about it it was suppose to; result in insurance for everyone, no one losing coverage, no cuts to medicaid, nobody will be worse of financially, and everyone will be taken care of (seriously could he be less specific?!).

The GOP attempt to repeal a replace the ACA which Trump threw his support behind would have resulted in; less people covered, cuts to Medicaid, andsubstantial increases in individual costs. The plan he supported was contrary to ever single one of his campaign promises relating to healthcare beyond repealing the ACA.

Gutting the individual mandate will also have the effect of increasing costs and decreasing the number of people covered. So again violating his campaign promises on the subject.

He would have done more in to fulfill his HC promises by failing to repeal the ACA since what he was willing to put in place was the opposite of what he promised. And he'd have been better off doing nothing as his repeal of the mandate is again doing the opposite of what he promised.

It's easy to promise the moon but he clearly does not have any idea how to deliver and clearly does not understand HC at all. But then again who knew HC could be so hard anyway?

Liberals pretending removing the literal heart of the bill isn’t important.

Imagine my surprise...

ACA is still alive, you act as if the GOP removed the heart. Honestly though what would you expect of the party that doesn’t know how to govern, only obstruct.

There is some truth here, but it is minuscule compared to the real uncomfortable truth.

Obamacare was an abject failure.

Now, it’s clear republicans don’t have the guts to push through an alternative, which is why you won’t see me complaining when we get “universal healthcare”.

The sad fact is that obama spent the entirety of his political capital on a failure of a bill. A fitting legacy for a disappointing president.

So is a vegetable on life support.

Neither will get better.

I see the logic, but wonder about that. I think the GOP is kind of happy that the repeal failed, and I'm not sure that another president would have gotten better results. The essential problem is that the party was criticizing the ACA from the left (that it didn't do *enough* to expand coverage and increase affordability) in their messaging while actually opposing it from the right (raised taxes on high earners to pay for benefits for the poor and middle class, imposed regulations, etc.). They were forced to either fuck over voters or do something that they didn't agree with and fuck over donors. I think a smart Republican president might have been able to thread the needle by making a few superficial changes and rebranding it (as Trump did with NAFTA), but it wasn't going to be easy. That's why the GOP was acting like the ACA was an existential threat in the first place--they knew it would be popular and pretty much unrepealable once enacted.

Did you actually read what I wrote? I criticized it because I do think it's important, Jesus man have some integrity.

Integrity?

Let’s start with you admitting that Obamacare was a failure.
