How many days are you working out and what is your routine?

I run 4 miles everday except sunday. Lift moderately 2-3 days a week. Box 1-2 times a week.

1) I do trust the science and the geeks though. What we ideally need is a return to many of those primal male elements/lifestyle in a lot of ways the Greeks and Romans and Spartans seemed to have the right idea.

If a Geek doesn't train; I am switched off. For me, I know my body, I've experimented with 4x/5x/6x. 4x split is ideal for me the same way 8 hrs of sleep is ideal. I need 4x to get everything into my routine usually 45min-1hr 15min. Sometimes slightly longer with cardio. At this stage in my life, I am very particular about the sources I go to, and rely on. A few buddies have trained their whole life, never miss a workout, and are in ridiculous good shape. It is very reliable whereas, youtubers are mostly on GEAR because nobody cares but for the result/look/aesthetics. Thats cool you found a working system for you.

2) Yeah 6x split and 5x split do seem to be 'superior' but many can they be a lot and take a lot of energy. Prime Arnold's routine was insane! But in truth it seems similar to what every other bodybuilder was doing and what they do today. Guys like Phil heath, dorian yates and all the meatheads of today probably have similar crazy programs. Same can be said for strongmen, and powerlifters. Personally I don't got enough time for all of that nor would I want that to be my life. I got too many other interests that make me a well rounded man.

Agreed. Keeping in mind, Phil Heath and Arnold are/were body builders. I may train body building or train hypertrophy but, i am not a body builder. I am not on GEAR. 4x split allows me to do everything I can in that time frame for each muscle group. At plateaus, I switch to a 5x5 strength train. The best shape of my life was a 5x5 and a lot of volume. That Adonis ratio is a real thing. That wider shoulders, thin waist, 6ft is a real thing. I remember going on Spring break with some buddies. I kept telling them to come train with me. One was even talking shit at me about not knowing how to train like him. They couldn't believe the shape I was in. I was fit/adonis ratio shape. Babes eat that shit up but natty, I am a skinny cunt that packed on muscle after years of training. Fast metabolism but look like amateur next to Jeff Seid who won the genetic lottery.

Arnolds-workouts-1.jpg

Still though I aim for a good phyisque. I personally am aiming to be pretty strong for my size (stronger than all my friends) and strong enough so that when I get back into grappling and muay thai I can be stronger/hold my own and be able to manhandle some people. A lot of bjj guys aren't the strongest from my past experience.

If strength is something you want, try Russian Strength training 5x5. Look into someone like Paul Chek (Elliot Hulse's mentor/role model).

Classic ^^^ GEAR routine. 50 pull ups no rest and this is dude's warm up. Steroids between breakfast and brunch.

Are you familiar with Rich Froning? (check netflix doc). Dude is the GOAT @ Crossfit but, ironically enough, he retired magically when USADA like testing came in. How convenient?

Again, I never compare myself to anybody. The more and more I am aware, I realize Diaz is probably right about steroids and professional athletes.

In terms of BB, I mostly aim for 4-5 main muscles I care about. They are Abs, Chest, Quads, and Calves are the most aesthetic muscles if you ask me and then arms. If you don't got Abs or a good chest your physique isn't impressive to anyone (low body fat % is necessary) and if you don't have good calves and quads then you got chicken legs and good quads without good calves looks stupid and throws off balance and strength of your legs.

Its funny. My abs show and calfs just grow. A lot of this is genetics. I have got a good chest. Back is something that kills me and I am constantly working on. I agree with you about low body fat but, the industry has a warped push on this mindset much of which is unhealthy. Being like 5% year round but, yah, that guy is natty. YEAH OK BUD!

3) I think Jeff Seid is most definitely on the gear. I am no expert on PED's but I think there are so many different types and they are so beneficial as a whole a person has to be crazy to not use them. I personally think that MMA and more athletic organizations should allow more PED's and should regulate a certain range of acceptable tesosterone levels for athletes. And let some of the 'steroids' be legal in moderation. With the amount of injuries and recovery and needed growth athletes have to endure they need a boost.

Not shit. Still, even Zyzz was a known GEAR user admittedly. His aesthetics were not nearly as good as Seid's. Seid had better aesthetics at 15/16 then full grown men with optimum test levels and even the use of GEAR. No hate man. Kid is doing his thing but, IFBB physique competitor? His rant on GEAR was purely a projection.

Preach young blood. I liked Vegan Gains call out on him. Lance Armstrong used GEAR. You wut mate?

Seid's projection is hilarious and cringe worthy but, the kid has sick aesthetics. He won the genetic lottery and is doing his thing. Naturally, people are going to hate but, I highly wouldn't recommend people to compare themselves to this.

Are you familiar with FFMI (fat free muscle index)?

http://www.calculators.org/health/ffmi.php

So, essentially,

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/7496846

Basically, Zyzz hit 25; indicative of GEAR. Anything over 24.3 is GEAR. Simone Panda says natty. He rated 28 LOLOLOLOL whereas, Arnie was 27. Thats GEAR between breakfast and brunch. Seid's #s are boarder line 24+ but, he lies about his stats quite a bit.

4) Yeah Jeff's physique owns Zyzz in my opinion. Much better chest, abs, shoulders, traps, quads, calves. I think Seid could bring up his calves some more, maybe forearms, and quads but other than that he is ideal unless you wanted to be as huge as Prime Arnold. I wonder how long he will maintain that physique he is so young and it takes so much (it is his life) that I wonder how much gas he has in the tank to maintain that insane dedication.

Genetic lottery. Now, if he were to admit to GEAR, they cannot sell you on the illusion of taking Mutant MASS or Seid BCAAs or ZYZZ protein of the GOD's. If Zyzz did not say anything about GEAR, likely, he could have got more sponsors but RIP.

LMFAO 6x a week. Practically no time to recover. Sounds natty to me.

just started back for about a month
2 days cardio
2 days full body weight training
i will up it to 2 days cardio
4 days weight training in 4 weeks

i lift weights every morning for ten minutes. i walk like six miles every day. i do this every single day. oh, and i bike-ride on the weekends.

You are everything that is wrong with the bodybuilding industry.

Exactly. The gym is mostly for looks as far as I can tell.

Tell that to the defensive end and linebacker I fucked up all day to get MVP in my last game.

But yeah. I also make being the MVP look good.

My workouts have been so bad/minimal over the past several years, moreso in the past year and non existent in the past 3-4 months. On a good note I think things have settled and I have more time to commit. I actually started working out last week which is nice.

My goal for the next few months is to get in weight training 3 days per week. Additional days will be technique work, mobility work, cardio, misc exercises such as abs, single jointed movements. As of right now I am doing Bench, light squats for speed/technique work, secondary bench or overhead assistance and additional stuff if time permits. Next day is Deadlift followed by lower volume heavier squats and upper back work such as pull-ups, rows. Then my third day should be Squat followed by bench. I may add an assistance for both squat and bench following that. Doing a gradual progressive overload going up small increments each week. If I can sustain this for about 8-10 weeks depending on how I feel at that point I may try to max out to find my baseline. From there on I will follow a more structured routine. My bodyweight is like 145#, which is the lowest I've been since my post injury back in college 15 years ago. I use to compete in powerlifting at 165 (walk around 170s) and over the past few years I've been in the 150s. My goal is to gradually get back up to the low 160s, but stay lean. I don't have number goals as of yet and will just play it by ear. If I get the iron bug back maybe even compete in powerlifting again.

not that i'm some kind of expert, but the most important thing when it comes to working out is consistency. don't be the person who works out hardcore once a week, then slags off for the other six days. better to do some type of daily routine. the reason why, is because you'll begin to dread the once-a-week workout, then find an excuse to avoid it. and then, you'll never return to working out. do two-minute workouts daily, if you have to. do something. that's the key.

Some form of workout almost every day.
Sundday - 5/3/1 deadlift/OHP plus accessories
Monday - Judo
Tuesday - Run (currently training for a half marathon)
Wednesday - Judo
Thursday - Run
Friday - 5/3/1 Squat/Bench plus accessories
Saturday - Run, Judo, and maybe something else for fun like obstacle gym or rock climbing

Week 1: 7 days. One session every day.

Week 2: 6 days. Two sessions a day. No training Saturday.

Repeat.

Just started back up recently. Weights 3d/wk, cardio 2-3d/wk, yoga 1-2d.

Monday: Arms/Abs
Tuesday: Chest
Wednesday: Shoulders
Thursday: Legs/Abs
Friday:Back

Then start the rotation all over again.

5-6 days a week weights and cardio getting big

1) I am just saying the science the geeks are getting at likely is 100% true. It is just hard for us or perhaps yourself to adapt to that model given the current societiy we live in and the fact that unless you are living somewhere that practices Sietas it is near impossible to sleep in the middle of the day or afternoon UNLESS you work for yourself or are in College. I just graduated which explains how I was able to have days like that. I'd often wake up, go workout go to class come back and sleep then get up and do productive stuff.

2) I think Seid just has a better routine in addition to better genetics. Zyzz seemed to mainly train and loved to train his chest, arms, shoulders and he seemed to ignore legs. His legs were tiny in comparison to the rest of him and especially his calves. With that said he was cool cause he was open about his PED use where as Jeff Seid is not.

3) That projecting video is hilarious. His buddy is like "you don't got to take shit to look like us" just hard work and dedication. I am no expert but serious lifters I have talked to have said even if you do have hard work and dedication you won't look like Seid ever unless you won the genetic lottery like some West African men have and you have worked out for like a decade.

4) Yes I have heard of FFMI and am aware of that calculator. I also pay attention to the website "Natty or Not"

Some people though argue he is natural.

Even adjusting for body frame size, I think it holds fairly true. The above ^^^ is also based off 6% body fat, LBM. And yeah Jeff Seid does fraud some of his stats or at the least his height. He entered bodybuilding competitions in the 5'9 and under class and

Still he is a good motivation in spite of his lack of charisma. He has come back from quite a few injuries (2x blown ACL's) etc.

LOL ^^ 5'6 matt ogus

suppose it is possible that he grew 3-4 inches in 3 years after age 19. It can happen.

Also, here is Chestbrah getting mega triggered. This isn't even mentioning that people who have met both guys don't believe their listed stats.

Agreed but, all the GEAR in the world wont make everyone look like Jeff Seid who again scored 24+ if I am not mistaken on the FFMI calc.

ECOM Brah checking in. I can do all the training I do (hence the callout earlier in the thread) with the self employment route. Working for others is retarded. Alternatively, unless you can 1) acquire more skills elsewhere 2) fine tune the skills you already have acquired.

Chest Brah (Zyzz bro) looks good too but known for PEDs + being a jail bait warrior lol

Zyzz had no sponsors outside simplyshredded so, there is no fallout. I respect Bostin Llyod for honesty.

Respect @ transformation + honesty. Again, no sponsors so, being self employed, he really blew up fucking huge. Like Captain America or Goku hyperbolic time chamber. He looked like a Cartoon character. Furthermore, he went from Marshmellow man and round face to square jaw.

3) That projecting video is hilarious. His buddy is like "you don't got to take shit to look like us" just hard work and dedication. I am on Yellow(s) so, I am erroring on the side of caution with race baiters.

Look at running and Jamaica? Look at Canada and Hockey? Look at America and Football? Europe and soccer?

Genes go a long way. Seid won the genetic lottery. if I stood next to another guy that lifted; Adonis genes would standout and I would stunt on them. If I stood next to Seid, it would look like amateur hour.

KinoBody/Greg O'Gall won the genetic lottery. Kid is 22 I think and can do front levers. 160lbs. His lifts are basic. Kid has crazy hustle. Gets ton of hate. Elliot Hulse is one of my favorites. Admitted to GEAR as a strong man competitor.

Yeah. I am slightly bigger for my height/weight but, I am still cutting so, I would say its prettty accurate. Likely, I will post pics once done.

Dude, he was a 4chan/miscer who blew up huge on the scene. No hate. I just wont compare myself to any of these guys.

It sucks because if I were to start a channel or we did, unless we took a "holistic" approach, it wont amount to much.

Are you familiar with Tai Lopez? Dude check his name and conspiracy? He faked being this rich bad ass from rags to riches. Snake oil sales man. People rip his programs on reddit lol

Not sure why given the lack of value there.

He is good. Physiotherapist and trainer for several pro teams. He is a bit of a cock sucker though; full on meat head. Saw a vid where he was talking and his sleeve was rolled up so you can see the head of the bicep just on the one arm. #CHEEKCUNT

He is sick though. If you can set aside his ego lol
