I started watching MMA in 2010-2011 i reckon, but what really got me into MMA was most likely Jones vs Belfort fight.

MMA was never very popular in my country. In matter of fact after years we first were able to watch UFC live from TV in late 2015 i think and it was in SD quality, oh the struggle.

Now i'm around MMA every day. I'm constantly watching something MMA related and i'm a very big fan of it.

I had to study all the history and the older fights/fighters, you name it, but i'm glad that i did.

Jones is and will always be my favorite

conor vs aldo was the first fight I've ever seen although I've been traning UFC for a decade and am blue belt in tae kwon jitsu

2004. It's been all I watch since 2008. You chose well pal, the best sport in the world.

"sport" right. when there was integrity. and i'm not hating on your post as I wish I looked at it as a legit sport, but not these days. hopefully we come full circle again and champs defend whose next

Not sure. Sometime around chuck vs Tito.

I really got into it in 2003 - Ubereem vs Lidell in Pride.

I was some time in Netherlands at this time and I remember going out fully stoned from a coffee shop late night and we watched Pride eating munchies pizza. What a time - I remember I was so sucked into the fight and so high I ate pizza till the end a bite my finger to blood.

I watched some important fights before, but this is one great memory.

Interesting story

2005, just started a little before TUF 1 and UFC 52. That year I was spending whatever little money I had to buy amatuer and smaller circuit MMA DVDs. First ever UFC card ordered was UFC 53. I would watch re-airs of PrideFC around that time but I preferred the UFC more because I knew who was who. Once other MMA promotions came along like EliteXC, Affliction MMA, WEC, Bodog, Strikeforce etc etc came along, I tried to watch them as well. Over the years I've been shocked, enamored, confused and heartbroken over MMA. It truly is a beautiful sport.

Around 1999, used to buy bootleg vhs tapes of UFC and PrideFc, in Peru as a kid.

Yeah, remember watching him on ITV boxing and people taking the piss out of him.

Then he went on and actually beat Wlad

a shame a fight with Haye never happened
hopefully we get to see joshua/fury and it doesn't become another match that we'll never see just like witter/hatton khan/brook

Ubereem was than getting popular in NL. He was born in London, but he lived in NL since he was 6 and hardcore mma fans I watched this were like - he's gonna be huge. He's gonna be world champ. Our champ

And he did.
