Nothing against Jake Ellenburger personally, but he's 2-7 in his last 9 fights in the UFC, with one of those wins coming over Josh Koscheck when he was at the end of his career and everyone was just kicking the shit out of him. How can he not yet been cut? With all of the promising fighters at 170, how does Jake Ellenburger still have a job with the UFC?

He lost to Mike Perry.

They feel bad about his patchy beard and are funding him to get help to grow a full beard to help that chin

He's like the American Erick Silva.

Still waiting on dat potential...

He’s always Dana’s friend.

Just ask Burkman.

Heavy hands, either wins by ko or loses by stoppage. Just bleed.

Entertainment value. Can KO and can get KO'ed

they did let him go. then he begged Dana for one more chance and he'll promise he'll deliver. they put him against Matt Brown and then he ended up beating Brown. that's how he's still in the UFC.

Thats the real story tho

Ellenburger isn't employed by the UFC. You've probably just seen his ghost that still haunts the occasional fight night card.

I know he's pretty close to Dana, but this is exceptional treatment for a non draw on a losing record. At least guys like Perry get's clicks regardless of there record. Jake has no major value to the UFC.

He is shot now imo, but I think the decline started off mentally. He really was a good fighter at one point.

Had an 8-1 run with wins over Shields, Marquardt, and Diego.

He used to be a KO artist for a couple of months when i was in high school like 5 years ago
